“Great views in this cosy 2 bed appartment”

We traveled from Southampton to visit the lake district.

Although Grange-over-sands is not in the lake district proper, it is a very quaint, quiet little town with a few shops, some lovely gardens (ornamental gardens are especially nice) and an esplanade to walk down, taking in the views of Morecambe Bay as you do.

Windermere was a nice 15 minutes drive, Coniston water about 30 minutes - this was absolutely fine for us.
Cartmel (a really lovely town well worth visiting) is about 10 minutes away.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying in Grange-over-sands when visiting the lake district if you are happy to travel a few minutes.

The apartment itself was perfect for the 4 of us. It has 2 double bedrooms of a good size. A very nice bathroom with an open plan kitchen and lounge and a helpful utility room off the kitchen. There is also a dining room but as it has no windows it is a little dark (we ate at the breakfast table in the kitchen where you can look out through the living room windows to the bay). Overall the chalet was a really good size, perfect for 4/5 people.

The selling point with the chalet for me is that from each window there are beautiful views of Morecambe bay, they are some really views (it is only a shame that the windows are a little too high to see from the couch and beds).

This place isn't some little 18th century cottage, it is modern and decorated to a modern taste. We found it very comfortable and we felt at home very quickly. I can imagine it being for young families in particular.

The chalet has a very large steeped garden area, with a patio at the top (even more lovely views are had from here). The garden is beautifully kept and we explored it at our will without hesitation.

In relation to the town, the chalet is not bang in the center but it is only 5 minutes walk to the local co-op, an easy 10 minute walk into the town center and 15 minutes to the esplanade. Parking for 2 cars right outside the front door was perfect for us (views were not affected :)).

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the chalet again.

“Modern and cosy with beautiful views”

We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights over the New Year period in order to do some walking in the Lakes. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

We were met with a warm, very clean apartment, plus a tea tray and cake! The wi-fi instructions plus local information was all available by the door. There is plenty of parking well away from the road, and a beautiful garden to have a cup of tea in. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, and the water pressure and heat in the bathroom are perfect. After getting through a day of rainy walking, we made full use of the lovely standalone bath!

The best part of the apartment though are the views. We woke each morning to beautiful sunrises over the town and the sea.

Grange-Over-Sands itself is lovely. It's quieter than the large Lake District towns, and so there is none of the usual wrestling with crowds of tourists. It has two small, very well-equipped supermarkets, both close to each other. The pubs in nearby Cartmel are brilliant for local beers, food, and atmosphere.

We were initially worried that the apartment is a bit far from the Lakes for daily hikes, but the driving time was completely manageable, and the character and quality of the apartment and the local area were worth the extra minutes.

I would definitely stay here again.
