“Fabulous rental”

We spent a week in the Old Waretmill in August 2014, and our group included our extended family of 10, ranging in age from 12 to 82. We all loved the Old Watermill. Truely fabulous accommodation. We were impressed from the moment we arrived and found a beautiful hamper of fresh bread, eggs, coffee etc....
The place was spotless and attention had been given to every detail. This holiday experience was really perfect for our group and I would most definitely recommend the Old Watermill. Personally I loved the ducks that appeared at the doors of the (exceptionally well equipped) kitchen every day for a feed!!!

“Perfect in Every Way!”

The Old Watermill is one of the best rental properties we have used in all our years of traveling. We were a group of seven friends and were overwhelmed when on arrival the owners, Bill and Carole, gave us a guided tour of the property they have so lovingly restored and tastefully decorated. There were the personal touches too....a vase of tulips and a "welcome pack" - a basket full of goodies including scones, jam and Cornish clotted cream.

The amenities and level of comfort are exceptional and the kitchen first class. We love to cook when we travel to experience and taste the local produce, so for me, being the cook, I was in heaven preparing food in this well equipped kitchen that opened on to the terrace where we could sit and enjoy a meal, the views and a glass or two of wine.

The Old Watermill is well located, away from the crowds, but not too far; it's an easy 25 minute walk to the charming village of Fowey and all the places of interest to visit in Cornwall are easily accessible by car. We loved to come "home' at the end of a days walking or sightseeing to sit on the terrace to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the garden, duck pond and the views, which confirmed that our choice of where to stay in Cornwall was a very good one indeed. I'm sure that the Old Watermill will become one of Cornwall's most popular rental properties

“Exquisite accomodation - beautiful location”

This was the perfect place for a stay in Cornwall; 5 star luxury in a peaceful setting with scenic views. There was a lovely surprise on arrival of a delicious complimentary cream tea - freshly baked scones, Cornish clotted cream and local fruity jam, such a treat! The Old Watermill is set up above Fowey, away from the hustle and bustle, and has been beautifully restored while retaining the charming details of old stone walls and high open-beamed ceilings. The 3 bedrooms in the main house all had sparkling new en-suite bathrooms (this was important to me - being American I like a shower with good water pressure!) and there was real attention to detail with quality bedding and towels - no scrimping! The entire property has just been fully upgraded by the new owners but my favourite part of the house has to be the kitchen which is beautiful. There is a huge farmhouse table but, more importantly, a whole glass wall of bi-fold doors opening onto a patio with gardens and a duckpond beyond - a wonderful place to relax and eat or just sit and have a glass (or 2) of wine.

If you ever want to leave the Old Watermill there are great walks and, of course, you can walk down into Fowey (it took us about 25 minutes). Fowey is a lovely place to wander around and there are a lot of cafe's and restaurants. There are all kinds of fun things to do and see within a short drive; the Eden Project is very close and made a great day out and there were lovely beaches in the area. In fact, there were things on our "to do" list that we never got to so I'm hoping that we go back to Fowey next year - and we will definitely be staying at the Old Watermill again! I rarely take the time to write a review but this place deserved it.
