We recently stayed at the caravan site attached to the pub. So this is a review of 2 half’s.
The campsite was small, 20 odd places for vans and tents etc. The pitches varied slightly in size and some you had to be good at reversing in tight places, thank god for a motormover. Each pitch was bounded by a hedge which was good for privacy. Access to water and waste was good, but ours, pitch14 had the water point behind us. So you got your next door neighbour walking through your site to get water. This wasn’t to much of an issue though. Showers were good, but there was only 2, although I never had to que up.
Wi-fi and tv reception were patchy to be fair. If you want Wi-fi go to the pub. Winner winner. The dog walking was ok onsite but would be limited if the camping field was in use. There are local walks within 15 mins driving though.
We ate at the pub and the food was really nice. The outside areas were dog friendly as well as the dog biscuits at the bar!
Dartmoor was 20 mins away. We never ventured the other way into Newton Abbott and Torquay. Ashburton is local and has all the usual shops as well as some nice speciality food shops.More
