Simply put this meal was amazing and one of the very best meals I have ever had. My wife and I had been visiting the area for our Wedding anniversary and just before traveling home we decided that we wanted to enjoy the beautiful views of Loch Venachar and some food. Venachar Lochside has some great reviews on trip advisor so we decided to give it a go. We arrived on a Sunday at Midday and were greeted by a very friendly attentive waitress. We were seated near windows looking out onto the loch and the view was stunning. For starters we ordered the Venachar sharer for two. This consisted of Chicken and bacon terrine, mushroom and chestnut pate, seared Perthshire short rib, gin cured salmon, pear and shallot chutney, beetroot pickle, sour cream and horseradish, beetroot foam shot, Perthshire rapeseed croutes and granary bread. It was a delight to behold and tasted just as good with other diners in the restaurant asking what it was so that they too good order it. It was very filling and if we were looking for a light lunch we could have easily left after this on its own. That said we carried on with our mains of Pan Roasted Chicken and Pork Belly and these dishes also did not disappoint. Both were delicious, very filling and so so tasty.
Overall this restaurant was simply amazing. The view, friendly staff, the atmosphere and the wonderful food made this a Wedding anniversary meal we wont forget. We will defiantly re visit when we return to Scotland
