“A lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2011

We had a 4 night stay at end of Aug beginning of Sept. Sally and Bill were great hosts, and we were shown round by Sally on arrival, and also given a welcome drink and shortbread in their lovely guest lounge. Sally made a point of saying that guests can come and go as they please at any time, which is also nice to know. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, our room was lovely bright, fresh and well decorated. With good quality bed & bedding. The whole house has a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere, it really did feel enjoyable stopping there. At breakfast although you are seated at the same table as other guests - the table is very spacious so you don't feel like you are encroaching on someone else's space. The crockery etc is spotless and the breakfast is excellent quality, and a pleasure to eat. There is also use of the hot tub which is an added bonus. Bude itself is a 20 min walk (downhill mostly) which of course does mean its a 20 min uphill (mostly) on the way back. The cottage itself is a few yards from the main coast road, a small torch is handy if walking and returning after dark as the Cottage is on an unlit road off the main coastal road. By car its only a few mins down to Bude, and there is a large carpark as you come into Bude which is free from 6pm. The coastal path is also only a few mins walk from the Cottage, and it is really worth walking part of it, there are some terrific views. We would certainly recommend Harefield Cottage without hesitation!

This is our 2nd visit to Harefield Cottage and we had another fantastic time. Sally and Bill work well together to make all guests feel welcome and they create a really fun atmosphere. The cottage is lovely and you can't really get much closer to the coast without getting wet. The views and local restaurants and walks all work together to make an awesome break. Thanks from the happy couple.

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at Harefield Cottage and can truly advocate that this is about as good as it gets in any Hotel/B+B accommodation. The room was perfect, the housekeeping and décor immaculate, bed and bedding were sumptuous and food superb. We chose the b+b plus evening meal option and we were not disappointed. The evening meal was proper home / rustic food with a high end restaurant presentation without the formality of having to dress up too. You can bring your own drinks - wine etc, and Bill or Sally will chill it for you too. As a vegetarian and quite a fussy eater i ate everything that was presented to myself which is a first for me. We shall definitely be returning in spring next year. Thank you Sally and Bill for a delightful stay!

We have just spent two nights at Harefield and the accommodation and hospitality were second to none. The rooms were fresh and spotless, and the breakfast was delicious we wish we had the evening meal, as speaking to other guests that who had eatenl said it was just like eating at a top class restaurant. We will not hesitate to recommend this to anyone and we will definately be returning soon.

Sally and Bill are amazing, so helpful and friendly, Bude is a 20 min walk from the B&B, but Bill will drop you off in the town so you can have a night out, with NO charge. the evening meal is £22.00 per head, worth every penny, plus you can put your wine you take with you in there fridge to have in your room or with your evening meal, and the hot tub was wonderful. will l got yes 100%.

Just returned from 3 nights and had the most lovely time. Room was very clean, modern with a new ensuite shower room. We were made to feel extremely welcome, everything was spotless. Delicious homemade shortbread and tea on arrival, breakfast was plentiful and option of a 3 course evening meal which we took advantage of one evening was excellent. Sally and William do an excellent job, nothing is too much trouble, even surving wine in the hot tub!!! All in all a lovely stay and would recommend it without doubt.
