Such a great pub! The manager Aidan was really helpful when I visited and was needing help with places to visit nearby. Shout out to Ellen who arranged the booking for my friends and I too, everything was spot on! Can't wait to visit again in the future!

Our room was not available for check in when we arrived so we left our personal belongings with reception as we were going to the races. When we returned later to check in at approx 6.30pm there was some confusion as reception looked on the computer and said I already had the key to room which was impossible as the room was not ready when we arrived. She went to get a manager and I could tell by their face that something was wrong, I was asked to get a drink in the bar whilst they sorted it out, and I could see the receptionist going upstairs to the bedrooms. After about 10 mins they came over to say everything was sorted and it was a misunderstanding. I was given keys to my room. The room allocated was not what I booked on booking.com it looked nothing like a ‘deluxe double’ it was obvious our room had been given to someone else. The room allocated had seen better days but it wasn’t bad and at 7pm we just couldn’t be bothered making a fuss after all we were only staying the one night.

We had a table booked for food along with 20 others and we were all seated together. I asked if I could get a drink and was told I had to go order at the bar, which was packed at this point. We queued at the bar for over 10 mins and our pizza had arrived at this stage, getting cold, my husband had to come find us. I have never eaten in a pub or restaurant where I was told to go get my own drink at the bar! You need to sort this out. Totally ruined the meal as it was cold by time we got served.

Room tip: Make sure you double up on drinks if eating as you have to fetch your own!

Hi Kpayne1975,

Thanks for taking the time to review us, we really appreciate your feedback.

We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your recent visit to us.

There was a miscommunication around the availability of your room. The team did work very quickly to resolve this all in just over 8 minutes. The room you were located in Iron side is a deluxe double room which as we understand is the room type you booked for.

In reference to your booked table. There was no reference to the fact that you were joining other guests. the team already very busy worked even harder to rearrange things and ensure that you were seated in the same area, They mentioned that you should head to the the bar for drinks as there was a high volume of food being serviced at the time and we simply didn't have enough people to table service every area of the pub. Unfortunately 1 of our team had called in sick which led to everyone needing to be reshuffled, but ultimately leaving us 1 person down. We were able to offer table service for drinks in the main restaurant which is where your booking was originally located.

It's surprising the receive this feedback as the team worked to resolve this issue out and were told not to worry and that all around you had an enjoyable experience. You could understand after this why we were surprised to receive such comments after the fact.

We will of course take on board all of your comments and feedback to improve ourselves. we all work very hard as a team to deliver positive experiences and this experience isn't typical of how we operate.

We hope you'll reconsider us for the future.

Kindest Regards,
Aidan Hazelwood,
General Manager

Whole building in dire need of renovation. Rooms over priced, wine and drinks extortionately expensive, breakfast tasteless and poor quality, stayed 2 nights and didn’t have any food on the second day.

Bathroom drain smelt awful and the whole room just didn’t feel very clean, the towels appeared to be new… a bonus!!

King bed was fairly comfortable…. Pillows lumpy… need replacing.

Emily was very nice and friendly she looked after us well… thank you.

Wouldn’t return.

Excellent hotel in the centre of Beverley. The location is perfect and the rooms were spacious and stylish. The bed was very comfortable, would definitely stay again. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and the service was excellent.

Room tip: The directions to the car park are different to the sat nav postcode for the hotel so ask in advance
