I'm not sure if the regulars appreciate having their local becoming a tourist attraction, because this is still very much a local's pub. Serving excellent beer and good bar food in surroundings that I imagine are unique. When it was last decorated is anyone's guess, but I suspect that it will a long time before it's done again; to do anything to this interior would be to spoil it. The labyrinth of rooms seems to go on forever and I'm sure there must be one or two people who have disappeared into the depths of the pub and never found their way out!
Twee it is not, it is an honest, down-to-earth drinkers pub and long may it stay that way.
