Lovely comfortable well equipped chalet with everything you need for self catering. Very dog friendly. Murdo and Lynne were lovely and made us very welcome. Local amenities good, really nice Indian Restaurant and Takeway. On the bus route which is handy if you want to go our for a meal and a glass of wine. I have passed on details to colleagues which I would not normally do but I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely chalet.

“Lovely country lodging.”
Reviewed August 13, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We were made to feel very welcome here. It is very convenient for the local attractions in Aboyne and along the River Dee. The Deeside cycle track runs right past the door and we would like to return to enjoy the beautiful countryside by bike.

“Ideal pet friendly place”
Reviewed April 8, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Really enjoyed our stay which was in the perfect balanced location between the Cairngorms and Deeside. The owners have tastefully set out the chalet with plenty of storage, kitchen facilities and furniture. It was great to be able to bring our dog and he relaxed very quickly in the chalet. We could have comfortably prepared meals in the kitchen but decided to eat out in Aboyne and got a takeaway in Ballater, both within easy reach of Dougal's Glen. Just across the road there is a lovely riverside walk. Will definitely stay here again. When approaching from Aberdeen look out for the signpost for Ivy Cottage.

“beautiful little holiday cottage, could not fault it”
Reviewed April 4, 2015 for a stay in October 2013

Our stay here was perfect. The little cottage is beautiful, very well equipped. It was cosy, and had everything we needed for our stay. The owners were so friendly, it was also in a great location, and brilliantly situated for exploring the North East of Scotland. would highly recommend it, we have not been back but hope to return sometime.

“Very enjoyable stay”

The cottage had all we needed, and the owners were very friendly.
The heating was very responsive; great as the days and nights get colder.

“Immaculate, Welcoming & Cosy”
Reviewed August 19, 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Lovely little self catering, with lots of nice touches. Pint of milk in fridge, tea, coffee and sugar all provided and a big packet of shortbread. Beautiful soft furnishings and bedding. Lovely fluffy towels, comfy bed, well equipped kitchen and two lovely hosts. And our dog was also very welcome. Highly recommend this for a base to explore Deeside and Cairngorms. It's not the biggest self catering establishment but is definitely one of the nicest. We will certainly be back.
