It's not 'help yourself' but adequate enough for £9.99. Tender beef, perfectly cooked vegetables, a large Yorkshire and horseradish sauce. Exactly as it should be. Comfortable venue. Polite staff.

Love love love this restaurants Sunday carvery. So much that we have been 2 weeks running. The first with friends, then as a couple. The service, prices and atmosphere are spot on. Great for family dining and groups too.

Been here three or four times for cream teas before and loved it. Unfortunately it was nowhere near as good this time.
First sign of a change was lack of outside table service (late morning). Now have to go inside and order rather than waitress taking the order.
Wanted two cream teas. For some reason, ordering scone, jam and cream and a pot of tea is cheaper on menu than ordering a cream for the same items. I ordered separately but got charged the higher 'cream tea' price. Didn't bother arguing for 40p.
When they came, one scone was very wide and flat whereas the other was much smaller and taller. Looked shop bought whereas thought previously they seemed home made. My was fine but partner cut into hers and the bottom half was hard as rock (they were warm so over done in microwave possibly?)
They did replace it (although had to ask again for jam and cream).
Waitress setting the tables looked like she wanted to be anywhere except here.
Maybe this was just a one off because it has always been nice before but very disappointing on this occasion.

Being new to Weymouth I called in at lunchtime to ask to see an evening menu. Staff were very friendly and the menu provided lots of choice for my wife Who is often limited to two or three possibilities. We returned in the evening and had a delightful meal. The staff were very friendly and efficient and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was well-cooked and well-presented. The crushed new potatoes were delicious, so often in other places they are disappointing. We will certainly return if we are in Weymouth again.
