Just returned, from the most wonderful relaxing weekend at moonfleet manor. The staff are so lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, and the facilities are everything you need. They cater brilliantly for families and also cater for dogs. Just superb. We're booking again for next year, for a weekend of relaxing and enjoyment

We popped in for coffee as we were camping down the road with friends. We heard good things about Moonfleet Manor so we were keen to see if it was a good as described. Our request for coffee was not a problem so we made ourselves comfy on the terrace. The children availed themselves of the fantastic play equipment - the grounds are lovely with a beautiful view. There was no cake available mid morning which was a shame but they did find some choc chip cookies to go with the hot drinks. Hot chocolate was good unfortunately the coffee was bad barely lukewarm and tasted like dish water. Other than that we had a pleasant morning reading the papers while the children ran around! We did have a nosy around the lounge area which looked very inviting however we did comment that the extended part of the hotel was very shabby and we weren’t sure why so many clinical waste bins were dotted around outside.

Dear Kate Leicestershire,

Thanks for popping in for a coffee. If we didn't get the coffee right for you, please accept my apologies, we would have swapped it, if brought to our attention. Cakes are always made fresh in the morning, ready for afternoon tea,so I'm sorry that they weren't ready for you. We do hope that you pop back in the near future.

Kind regards
Neil

We went as a family and as far as the facilities go for kids it is great. It is in a beautiful setting, well located to explore the Dorset coastline.
We were in a deluxe family room which I could not fault. Beautifully decked out and very spacious.
As a busy mum of twin toddlers the 2 hours a day creche was fantastic. There is a brilliant huge room with soft play, climbing/ traversing wall, table tennis, indoor football pitch etc so whatever the weather you can entertain the family.
The cinema and events laid on seemed great. Inc pizza making and tennis lessons.
I feel it was expensive considering the kids dinners weren't included and the meals were highly priced for what you got. There needed to be more vegetables or options of these included in the price.
There is a listening service which seems to work well so you can go down to dinner and reception will let you know if there is any concerns in the room.
As a family hotel I would recommend this but if I'm honest I wouldn't pay those prices if I wasn't benefiting from the facilities for the kids.

Went with a friend foe morning coffee (quite expensive) then left the car and walked along the coast to Abbotsbury. Beautiful walk. Went back again for a cream tea in the garden. The staff are all fabulous I must say. Always asking if everything ok for us. We really enjoyed our day
