We accidently found this little gem of a café in a small shopping centre , the décor was basic , but the food delicious.
We both had the home made soup & bread & it was tasty & filling & something we would not have found else where. I cannot remember what the soup was called but it had chorizo & potato in it.
We followed it by Portuguese coffee which were the best espresso's we had in Weymouth & we drink a lot of espresso.
We found the manager to be very welcoming & chatty. A good café for an inexpensive lunch.

This little store Taste of Portugal is not showing the divine Portuguese cuisine. Is far away to achieve the real taste of Portugal. The manager should understand and know how to cook Portuguese food before serving to anyone. Not impressed at all. Lack of presentation , good manners and attention to detail is all you can find here. Cakes displayed are not always fresh you can see they been left from the day before. Atmosphere isn't pleasant at all.

Excellently run little cafe, hidden inside the Callwell Centre
next to the new Tourist Information Centre in Weymouth town centre. Well worth finding this little gem of a place for the wonderful coffee and delicious fresh soup of the day searved with chebatta bread. Shame that this place is so hidden away from the main passing trade - otherwise it would be doing a roaring trade. I go every time i'm in town and am always served with a smile and good food and drink.

Found on Trip Advisor, and had to try it for ourselves. Had delicious sandwiches, pastais, and bollo arroz. (Apologies for the spelling mistakes!)

Owner was very friendly and told us of the up coming move to larger and more central premises, with longer opening hours.

Will definitely be back soon.
