“Brilliant location!! Fantastic cottage!!”

This cottage is just superb! Set on three floors it is extremely spacious and very well equipped. The property is very warm, homely and beautifully clean. The first car parking space is directly ahead of you as you go up the steep hill to the cottages, do not veer to the right. Be careful not to catch your car door on the bollard when opening, it is tight and can be difficult to see. The second space is adjacent to the decking. Really good to get two car spaces in the middle of Bowness!! This cottage is in a perfect location just across the road is a fantastic bistro called Jacksons Bistro.. the food was superb! They do a two course menu for £14 and three for £17 it was really great food the house wine whilst not particularly cheap, but good quality. Definitely visit The Hole in the Wall pub.. it is renown..serves great food and has a fab, true English pub atmosphere. We also ate at The Albert which won Tripadvisor Restaurant of the year 2015. We took a boat trip to Ambleside across Windermere for £10.50 return the views and scenery were stunning.. well worth the trip a great day out. Loved this cottage experience would recommend it to anyone.. ideal for three couples..remember to pack your own towels. Book you won't be disappointed!!

“Excellent Location”

I stayed here from Fri 9th of October to Sun 11th, we travelled, two families as a group of 6. The location of this cottage is amazing, right in the centre of Bowness but tucked away so it really is very peacefull. The cottage is perfectly sized for 6 with loads of space, a good sized kitchen and a large bathroom downstaires, bath, shower toilet, and a smaller bathroom upstaires toilet and basin. With the lovey pub next door and loads of very good restaurants just around the corner this place is perfect, we all had a brilliant stay and will be back.

The cottage was perfect for 3 couples and well equipped. It is a stone's throw away from the lake, from bars and bistros and yet you feel that you are tucked away from the madding crowds too

“Absolutely comfortable, centrally located and modern amenities with a touch of authentic lake district look”
Reviewed April 22, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Me and my wife along with a friend's family stayed at the Honeypot cottage during the Easter long weekend 2014. The booking procedure was smooth. Payment was made to a bank account online and this may be the only difference when compared to most of the hotel bookings; however, once you convince yourself to accept this, the stay will definitely be a pleasant surprise. The cottage has the authentic lake district construction and has all modern amenities that one may need for a short/long holiday. We were really impressed with the cleanliness at the time of check in. Rooms, gadgets etc match to the description and are well maintained. The cottage location is absolutely a big asset. It is close to the lake, restaurants and supermarkets. It has two car park spaces which is quite unique. The outside deck may look a bit unclean but we weren't keen on that. Watch out for the steep road to get to the car park. Overall, a pleasant stay and a good booking experience through

Four of us recently stayed at Honeypot Cottage, it's a lovely little place in such an ideal location. The place was exceptionally clean when we arrived. The lounge and kitchen is open plan which is great. The bedrooms are all a reasonable size and have very comfy beds. I would definitely recommend staying here, there's a great pub opposite as well. It does state on the website that towels aren't supplied but I missed this so had to buy some, so make sure you take your own.

“Good spot but not perfect”

The cottage is ideally located in the middle of Bownes on Windermere. The house is nice and complete. There are a couple of negative things. The fridge is way too small for a house like this. The fridge was broken, shelfs were missing in it and there was no freezer.
The outside deck ( terrace) is nice with a lot of privacy but poorly maintained. The table and four chairs were a disgrace. You cannot offer this to people in such a poor condition.

People who have difficulties in climbing stairs should avoid this house. The stairs from the car park to the house are very steep. When it rained everything becomes slippery outside.

It is a nice house if they put in a new fridge and a new table and chairs outside.
