I recently booked a week for my husbands 60th birthday at the Eastbourne Guest House,but the morning we were due to leave we got a phone call calling us home because of an medical emergency within the family.
We called Martin the owner at the hotel to explain that we would not be able to arrive as agreed due to the problem we had,but from that call Martin did everything in his power to help us and managed to re-book the room for some of the nights so that he was able to refund us some of the money we had paid.
Obviously we did not expect him to go to so much trouble for us,but he did and we appreciated it very much.
We had a very stressful week when we had no idea of the outcome,but to think that someone took the time and trouble for us was very humbling.
Things have thankfully settled down now and everything is going to be ok but I just felt that Martin deserved to be thanked for all his efforts when I'm sure he is extremely busy with other guests,I'm sure not everyone would have gone to so much trouble,and he kept us informed by e-mail through it all.
Hopefully we will be re-booking again during the next few weeks and it will be nice to get to eventually meet up with Martin to thank him personally.More
