Good service. Could have done with a check back after our meals were served. Had mushroom pancakes with lots of tasty vegetables and lovely chips. All the food served in our party looked and tasted good. For the crate sharing starter could do with some spoons to serve the dips with. Much better than last time I was there.

Excellent bar. The food served was excellent and very tasty. My party all had fish of different varieties. Drinks were served promptly. The ceiling of the bar is very interesting and unique. The staff were great and very friendly. If your in Barnstaple then pay this place a visit.

Had dinner here the other evening and a bit of a mixed bag to be honest. The service was generally good and friendly but badly let down by mixing up our orders. The starter of mussels was very good even if the sauce was a little bland.
We both had the steaks for mains, one rare and the other medium rare. It was only half way through that one of us commented that theirs was a touch over done and the other said theirs was underdone - of course we'd got the wrong ones. We both ordered different sauces (at £2.50 each for a small jug) but these were so bland that they provided no clues. All this would have been tolerable if the steaks were good, but very much on the tough side.
The final bill came to close on £100 so overall pretty poor value. If I am ever in Barnstaple again then I'll be looking for somewhere else to eat.

We called in without booking on a busy Saturday lunchtime.
Helpful staff found us a table and were very attentive. Good size portions particularly the pork ribs. Good choice of drinks. A number of restaurants seemed quiet in the town but this one was buzzing.
