“A chocolate box cottage that I wish was mine”
Reviewed June 26, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed a Breakers Sound for a week in June with our black lab.
The cottage is amazing, so beautiful. It is absolutely idyllic. It is difficult to do it justice in describing it.
We have stayed in many cottages over the years the last 10 with Henry our lab. I have to say this is the best by far.
The cottage was so clean which is not always the case when dogs are allowed. Every room was spotless. It was well equiped a real home from home.
The gardens are real picture book stuff, imaculate with lots of nooks and crannies, ponds and garden furniture. Henry loved plopping about the garden.
The cottage is a five minute drive from Ventnor where we enjoyed some brilliant food.
We will return to breakers sound and the IOW as there was so.much we didn't do and we could never find a better cottage.

“A dream of a holiday”
Reviewed August 6, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

If you are looking for that chocolate box cottage with all the mod cons then Breakers Sound is the place to go.
On arrival we were greeted by the stunning front garden and as we walked to the front door we could see the sea. Our dog Ruby made a bee line round the back and was excitedly exploring the various levels of the back garden before we could even unlock. Inside was what we expected of a cottage, quaint cosy living room leading on to the dining room from where we could see the fantastic water feature. The second more formal dining room was lovely also with fantastic views of the garden.
The bathroom was ultra modern with a huge bath and separate shower ,the modern kitchen had everything you needed and the utility room was great as I did all my washing before coming home.
The bedrooms were bright and airy each with a fantastic view.
The whole cottage was spotless.
There was nothing we needed as everything was provided, even the weather was fantastic, only thing I would mention is that the garden is not fully secure so might be a problem for the smaller or untrained dog, and the levels of the back garden might prove difficult for those with toddlers as the steps are quite steep and uneven. althought this was not a problem for us and feel that that if children are well supervised this is the perfect holiday location.
I can’t wait to go back again next year
