Full marks to Andrew. Top host gave us a great welcome and couldn't have done more for us, nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful room towards the top of the house (6) and you could see the sea out of the window. Everywhere was spotlessly clean with lovely decor and such attention to detail throught The Metropolitan.

Fanatastic choice of breakfast, I had the cooked breakfast one day and the eggs benedict the next - both cooked to perfection, piping hot and the coffee was real filter coffee. Everything was so fresh with cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices and toast on top. Oh and great location too.

Thank you for a memorable stay in Whitley Bay x

Room Tip: We stayed in 6 (twin room) and was perfect. Had a peak at the family room no 7 which was very roomy at spacious at the top of the building.

Stayed here for 5 nights on a work trip, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. 2 minutes walk from the town centre one way, and a seafront that is currently being redeveloped the other. The welcome was friendly and sincere, the rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you would receive from a big hotel chain and more, and the breakfasts are outstanding, fresh, consistent and filling. Considering also it’s pretty much a one man operation, this place is quite a little gem, we’ll done.

Stayed here for on night for a friends wedding in Tynemouth, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as it was excellent.
Room was large and very modern and spotlessly clean.
Very friendly and accommodating.

Host was friendly, welcoming and helpful, with a good understanding of the needs of cyclists. Helped us get our bikes inside and had our water bottles ready the next morning.

The room was very large with comfortable beds and the whole guest house was immaculate. The cooked breakfast was well presented, tasty and piping hot.
