My brother and his family stayed 3 nights just recently, we are all from southport and remember these big hotels in their heyday..and we were not disappointed in the royal clifton.
Parking is limited and vehicles have to be logged in at the front desk, but i didnt have any issues..found the staff great, particularly at the swimming pool.
Breakfasts were great, good variety of food and good quality.
The room was fabulous, 2 double beds, a raised area with seating and a bay window with a stunning view of the whole of southport front , separate room for the 3 children, and a huge modern bathroom.
The health club, we used it each day and took the children to the pool, great size, bit cool in the water, but fine.
The children loved it, loved the room.
And for the children the best play park ive seen in ages is just over the road by marine lake, another thing the children want to come back for.
For parents, keeping 3 small ones entertained is tricky, plenty going on with pleasureland, the beach, the pier, victoria park , ocean plaza, marine lake, splashworld all within walking distance..and morrisons if you need extras very near, and for shoppers the famous Lord Street a stones throw away.
All in all they had a great stay, in a great hotel, for a great price, with a great location..More
