Popped in for drink today, I was gagging for a half after a day out with my grandson.
Only a half mind you but the pub is still comfy and welcoming.
It was a little quiet but it was late afternoon.
Don't know what the hotel part is like but the bars are great and inexpensive.
Might another tomorrow.

Having just arrived from Australia on vacation My wife and I pre- booked into this hotel for 3 nights - upon arrival the reception was empty - finally after requesting at the bar a receptionist arrived - the check in experience was disgraceful - the room we booked was unavailable due to flooding night prior - despite numerous messages confirming the room type we were never informed of any change until arrival - whilst making a joke the receptionist told me quite curtly I was a rude person- then again when she made a comment about rain not being under her control - which I responded was more due to the hotel not being fit for purpose to avoid leaks - at this point I was told “take it or leave it “ - a lower price was offered which was in fact the rack rate for the inferior room anyway - when my wife arrived later and complained about the inferior pillows she was also told to “ take it or leave it “ at this point we walked out !
The staff are totally unfit to work in the service Industy - obviously no training has taken place - this hotel is geared to tradesmen/contractors and is no way suitable or acceptable for the discerning holiday traveller - having spent the last 25 years travelling around the world on business I have never experienced such shoddy service - the management should take notice and train their staff accordingly

Had sunday lunch here a few times and has been ok . visited today 11/09/19 and what a let down the plates have drastically shrunk we were served by the most misserable chef who did not want to part with any of his roast joints sliceing it so thin we ended up with scraps on a tea plate we then tried to fit potatos and veg etc on to this tea plate on siting to eat the mash potato was lumpy and had raw lumps of potato in it the parsnips were not cooked the sweetcorn was rock hard and the gravy was pure water. we paid £7.50 for a tiny inedible sunday lunch.

I had been planning on having a night at The Marine whilst down visiting family for quite some time and finally got round to it last week. I was delighted with my experience. All the staff were friendly and helpful, my sea view room was huge and nicely appointed and there was a very reasonably priced optional breakfast in the morning.

Room tip: Definitely go for a sea view room

Stayed for a week & was more than happy with all aspects, room, food & staff. My room was spacious with a sea view, comfy bed & great pillows. Breakfast offered everything expected with great quality bacon & sausage, evening carvery was excellent as were the other evening meals I tried, especially the lasagne, delicious.

Room tip: Room 19 has great sea view.
