“Great base for exploring Cornwall”
Reviewed August 19, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Stayed at Glynn Barton for a week in April with husband and 2 kids (7 and 5). Great base for exploring Cornwall as it's pretty much in the centre of everything. Lovely cosy cottages with everything you need. Kids loved the animal feeding and playground and we loved the convenient location and the extras such as the on tap ready meals, washing machine, honesty shop and great hospitality from Steve and Shirley! Nice to have a self-contained holiday home but with others around for the kids to play with but to be honest, I think it is most suited to younger children. Most on site were a bit younger than ours. Still- would highly recommend as a great base with extras. My only gripe was the soft bed and its effect on my middle-aged back!

“A perfect find”

A broken foot for our daughter-in-law necessitated a last minute change of holiday plans from New York to Glynn Barton - we joined them there to help out and what a find these cottages are!
They describe themselves as "family friendly" which must be one of the understatements of the year. After a week there we could not think of anything which was missing. Lovely swimming pool, soft play room, trampoline, general play room, outdoor play vehicles, animals to feed, lovely grounds to walk around, freezer room full of quality foods and fresh eggs gathered by the children and everything kept in excellent condition.
We had two separate cottages, each of which was fully equipped inside and had seating outdoors too. Very comfortable and clean.

Just an awesome experience. You really don't need to leave the farm - they have thought of everything for kids under 5. A really good find.

“Can't think of a better place to take our toddler”

We've just returned from a wonderful week at Glynn Barton, the cottage and facilities were amazing and our son absolutely loved the animal feeding, especially collecting the eggs! We can't speak highly enough of Steve and Shirley and have every intention of returning soon. The location is great for exploring Cornwall but equally there is plenty on site to keep everyone amused! It was great to be able to let our son run around knowing he was safe in the enclosed grounds. We can't recommend Glynn Barton highly enough to anyone who has toddlers.

This is our second trip to the Glynn Barton Cottages. It is a fantastic holiday retreat. It provides everything you could want from a holiday. Onsite faciliates are amazing, the pool is almost private as it is only shared with 7 other cottages, animal feeding is superbly faciliated by Steve and Shirley and there is loads of toys for the kids of all ages. In addition it is close the loads of beaches, fantastic family friendly restaurants and fun activities. Your kids will not want to go home!

“We didn't want to come home.”

This was our one holiday this year and we had high expectations of Glynn Barton. These were not disappointed.

From the moment you turn off the country road you feel like you are escaping from reality. The cottages are set on a hill side with stunning rural views. With an enclosed garden at the front of them the children (aged 18 months and 3 years) were instantly able to let off excess energy.

Bull Run is compact, but contained everything we needed. In particular the owners have taken care to think of things that make life just that little bit easier - washing up liquid, soap, dishwasher tablets, tea towels etc were all provided as was a starter kitchen roll and a blender (key items when you have a toddler/baby!!).

Both Tesco and Sainsburys delivered to site, but I wish I had ordered only the basics as the on site shop had a large selection of delicious Cook meals and baby food as well as eggs from Glynn Barton's chickens.

We were made to feel welcome immediately and shown around - washing machines (free to use), tractor ride on area, playground, indoor pool, playroom with enough toys and dvds to shame Toys-R-Us, trampoline, soft play and of course the animals. Every area was immaculate and clean (even by the animals!).

My only slight complaint was that the travel cot had not been put up. The owners have done this in the past to find that it is not in the right place. If you are arriving late then they do put it up and if you asked in advance then I know they would too.

Despite fantastic weather we did not go anywhere at the weekend - all of us were happy just to stay on site and none of us got bored! However, it is very easy to get to either the north or south coast and there are plenty of other places to get to within 20 - 30 minutes drive.

I had arranged 3 private swimming lessons for our eldest and these were a total success. She went from only ever having swum with floats to being able to swim a short distance by herself. She hated going on her back, but not any more. I cannot believe the difference in such a short space of time.

The owners both took particular care to make the children feel welcome and the daily animal feeds were a highlight (even in the rain that then took over). Our eldest cried when we had to leave.

If I could go back there tomorrow I would and so would the rest of the family.

“Toddler Holiday Heaven”
Reviewed May 4, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Before we visited Glynn Barton it was hard to believe that a holiday with two toddlers (a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old) could be enjoyable and relaxing for all the family. Set amidst lush green Cornish countryside, Glynn Barton offers 8 immaculately clean and fully equipped self-catering cottages. Within one minutes walk there is an abundance of toddler activities including a ride-along area, indoor soft play with a ball pit and slide, an indoor heated swimming pool, a large Wendy house, a playground, tennis courts (with free equipment), a playroom full of toys, and a mini maze.
We were able to let our children choose where they wanted to play whilst we sat and enjoyed the views and the peace. With only 8 cottages and so much to do it never felt busy or crowded.
The owners, Steve and Shirley made us feel welcome, as if we were joining their family for the week. Each morning we were able to take part in the animal feeding, which the children loved. It was lovely to see my daughter grow in confidence with animals as the week progressed. Collecting the eggs was a highlight.
There are plenty of Cornish delights only a short drive from Glynn Barton, if you can convince your children to leave the play areas that is! Gorgeous beaches, The Eden Project, quintessential Cornish villages, and Bodmin and Wenford steam railway is only 5 minutes away.
I could go on and on singing Glynn Barton’s praises, but perhaps the best two compliments I can give is that within a week of returning we’ve booked to go again next year, and my husband (who likes to moan in depth about things that bother him) could not find a single thing to complain about. Praise indeed!! Thank you Glynn Barton for our first family holiday that actually felt like a holiday.
