“The kids roam safely and prefer to 'stay at home' rather than go out for the day!”
Reviewed June 5, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

The cottage (Millhouse) was so clean that we felt like we were the first ones in it. Spacious and fab 'posh hotel' standard of bedding. Kids begged to go out and roam from the minute they woke. All 100% safe and made friends with the other children and had a whale of a time. If you don't feel like socialising with the other families, the kids can have a blast while you feel like you're the only ones there. Really. Mix of manicured and wild land to explore and good healthy natural fun. Even Tescos come and deliver!! Loads to do within 30 mins drive but you don't actually need to go out as there is so much to do 'at home', hidden in various places. You feel like you're living in a small holding amongst shrubs, gardens and fields and yet there's so much to do. Absolutely wonderful. Can't recommend it enough.

“Lovely quiet private cottages with loads of activities for small children”
Reviewed May 14, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We had to fly so couldn't take a lot with us but not a problem Steve & Shirley provided most things you need from cots & monitors to wellies & beach stuff loads of toys in the playroom with DVDs and books for children all ages. Our boys 1yr and 3yr loved the ride on cars feeding the animals the trampoline swimming and the soft play area. A ride on the lawn mower was fun and simply meeting other children was nice. The cottage was quaint and suited are needs although we did have to safe guard around the fire from baby. Baby slept upstairs with monitor separate rooms meant no disturbed sleep, only downside no cot mattress. We liked the peace & quiet no crowds or too much noise. All this in beautiful surroundings and not far from all the other attractions Cornwall has to offer. We loved it!!

“Fabulous family holiday”
Reviewed April 23, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Glynn Barton. The owners, Steve and Shirley, made a point of meeting us on our arrival and their warm welcome really set the tone for the whole holiday. They are brilliant hosts, incredibly friendly and always making time to stop and chat.

The cottages are really geared up for families, in particular toddlers and babies. On site there is a warm indoor swimming pool, soft play barn, play room with a large stock of toys, books and DVDs, outdoor play areas and a toddler ride-on area. However the highlight for our children was the animal feeding on weekday mornings where they got to hand feed the sheep, cows, donkey, pigs and hens – not to mention collecting the freshly laid eggs for lunch too! There are facilities for slightly older children as well – table tennis, table football, pool table, tennis court and numerous places to visit locally that will keep them entertained.

The cottage itself was absolutely spotless and incredibly well equipped, particularly for families with toddlers. Everything you may need is provided saving you from having to pack the kitchen sink (travel cots, high chairs, bed guards, plastic plates and cutlery) and many other items are available on request (baby monitors, sterilizers etc). Free WiFi is available in each cottage as well.

And the location is amazing. You are less than 10 minutes from Bodmin but you could be in the middle of nowhere looking out over the Glynn valley with wonderful views. Beaches to the north and south are easily accessible and Cardinham Woods and the Camel trail are 5/10 minutes drive and well worth a visit with the bikes.

On site there is an honesty shop stocking the COOK range of frozen ready meals and a selection of local produce. A brilliant idea and it was well used as no-one wants to spend all holiday cooking!

Overall, if you are looking for somewhere that is high quality, good for young children and an escape from everyday stresses then Glynn Barton is the place to come. This is probably one of the best self catering cottages we have been to and we would highly recommend it. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year.

“Fantastic Family Fun”
Reviewed April 20, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

This was our fifth consecutive year at Glynn Barton and we were again not dissappointed. Steve and Shirley are fantastic hosts and look after you from the time you arrive. Emily (4) and Charlotte (4 months) loved daily animal feeding, swimming in the pool, playing in the playbarns and exploring. The cottages are well placed for easy access to Cardenham woods, Watergate bay, Fowey and Padstow. The Hayloft is a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a relaxing family trip. Glynn Barton is highly recommended and we are already planning our next trip.
