“Lovely calm visit”
Reviewed June 4, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We all really enjoyed our stay. Perfect for children and our dog.

Set in a nice calm area tucked away so we could let the kids kick a ball round the back or play with the dog out the front

Nice clean space with more room than it first seems. Highly recommended for the price!

“Nice Break”
Reviewed April 24, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed at the cottage as a group of 3 adults and 1 dog at the beginning of March.

After reading the reviews, we were looking forward to the stay.

We booked the cottage, believing it to be a single cottage. The way the photographs on the Holiday Lettings site showed it from an angle that suggested it was. None of the description or reviews I read on her suggested it wasn't. So on arrival, we were disappointed to find it was in a row of 3, with a large detached house directly in front of the cottage, approximately 5 metres away, with a very small, square, patch of grass at the front. My dog is not very dog friendly and having thought it was a single cottage, was disappointed to find that we were in the row of 3, with no secure garden area. Fortunately, no one else was staying there with a dog!

There is a grassed area that covers the length of all 3 cottages at the back, but is not secure and if you are taking a dog, they could easily run off, down the side of the cottages and out onto the road.

None of the reviews or listing information on the website mentioned that these cottages are also set on a working farm and the cottages are very close to a large barn. Every afternoon there was a VERY strong smell of manure around the cottages for a couple of hours.

Now to the inside of the cottage. The cottage is quite small, but very well laid out and ideally sleeps two adults and two children. The first bedroom is a double and the second is a set of bunkbeds. Each bedroom has plenty of wardrobe storage space. The bunkbeds were quite comfortable but the double bed was not.

The bathroom has a small shower cubicle, sink and toilet. There was one roll of toilet roll when we arrived, so make sure you take some with you.

The kitchen is pretty well equipped, but is quite small and more than 1 person at a time would struggle to move around. There is a small under counter fridge, with a small freezer box, well equipped with cups/cutlery/plates etc. The oven is electric and there is a microwave. Would also suggest taking some bin bags as only one provided and the bin is not very big. My only gripe with the kitchen, was the lack of cleaning at the side of the oven. After accidentally dropping a piece of onion down the side and trying to get it out, I was disgusted by the amount of grime, dust and old food down the side.

The lounge area has a small tv, an armchair and a 3 seater sofa.

Would we stay again? Probably not due to the reasons explained previously.

We always take guests comments seriously and appreciate your review.
Blueberry cottage is pet friendly and we have one other cottage on that site which is pet friendly. They are shared gardens on this site at all all times dogs must be kept on lead as advertised.
With regards to the smell of manure, yes this is a smell that you find in the Countryside and there is a working farm nearby.
With regards to the cleaniness of the cottage, this is always a high priority on our list, we do pull out the ovens on a regular basis to insure it is clean this must have been overlooked on this occasion and do apologise, and has had a deep clean recently.
I can recommend our Cider Barn cottage for you as this cottage as this is also pet friendly and has a Very Large enclosed garden and is much nearer to Sandbay beach where you can also take dogs.
All our bookings we give a free day pass to Puxton Park for all the family to enjoy (for 4 people).
regards

“Great Short Break”
Reviewed March 28, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Lovely little cottage in a great location. We had a great day at Puxton Park and there is plenty to do near by. The cottage was clean and modern with good size rooms. There was a slight hick-up with the key collection but this was resolved by friendly and helpful people.

We were looking for a quiet relaxing break following my wifes recent operation, saw the other cottages at Kewstoke, and looked them up on the web, when we came across these at Rolston. The cottage was very comfortable, nice and clean, and well furnished and equiped. the whole site was very peaceful, nicely laid out, well positioned for local supermarket, (Sainsbury's) and a visit to the company's Picton Park, is well worth the effort, with it's attatched farm shop and superb restaraunt, serving a good choice of reasonably priced food. We would definatly make the effort to return, and would recommend to a friend.

Exactly what we expected from the information given. It really felt like a home from home. Warm and cosy with all the amenities you need, including a parking space. A great bonus was the free day pass to Puxton Park-a must go if you have young children my 15month old daughter loved it! Just a note-I didn't realise i needed to request a highchair as it was listed in the details of the cottage but one phone call and it was brought for us the following day-thanks Kim :)
