Excellent cottage in a delightful location. Garden to make you want to run home and start on your own (or give up completely). But why name your dog after a potato????

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 2 pugs who were as welcome as we were. There is everything you would need here. A field out the back to walk the dogs in the morning and plenty of lovely walks a short drive away. The cock in pub a stones throw away is a lovely friendly welcoming pub with great food. The pugs were welcome there to and the complementary treats went down well. If you have dogs or not this is a lovely place to stay.

We stayed for a short break of three nights in July at this delightful dog-friendly little cottage. It was well equipped, very clean and comfortable. It is conveniently situated right on the edge of the South Downs and close to the town of Lewes. We received a very warm welcome from the owner along with a plate of freshly-baked scones. A most enjoyable stay.

What a lovely place to stay; The friendliest welcome - with scones no less, well appointed and had everything we needed for a restful few days break.

Me and my partner enjoyed a wonderful stay in the escape over valentines weekend. Joy and John were second to none as hosts, making sure we had everything we needed for the perfect stay, paying attention to all the little details such as lightly the fire for us on arrival and providing us with tea/coffee and scones. The facilities and setting is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway, we have already started planning our trip!

We have just returned home from the most beautiful cottage. If we could pick it up and take it with us to wherever we holiday then we would. The situation is lovely in John and Joy's lovely garden overlooking fields, not to mention The Cock Inn next door with consistently fanastic and reasonable food (no noise from here by the way). The staff are friendly and attentive and even remembered our names after the first visit. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and cleverly designed to make most use of the space. The greens and creams and browns bring the garden into the cottage along with the lovely vase of flowers which awaited us, and the gorgeous cream tea prepared by John. We received a warm welcome from John and Joy, and of course their delightful dog Cara who made a point of staying while we unpacked, just in case we had any questions! The bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get out of it but the sun shone and we simply had to get up for breakfast in the garden. The walk in shower even provided views through the roof window across the fields and the setting sun. In our view it simply can't be improved upon. It is absolutely perfect for couples (although that option isn't available to tick in the choices below). A truly wonderful place and a credit to John and Joy in what they have achieved.
