Such a great setting in which to try the best of the regional specialties! Beautiful space, excellent service, and fabulous food. We happened upon this spit on the recommendation of our hotelier, because the hotel dining room was closed that day. What good advice. We hope to return soon!

Today, we enjoyed the best strozzapretti in Italy! The texture was perfect and it was accompanied by a very tasty asparigi, funghi and salsiccae sauce.
My husband ordered the passatelli which passed the test but is nowhere near as enjoyable as the strozzapretti.
The lamb chops for secondo were beautifully cooked and the contirni of spinach and roast potatoes with rosemary were really good also.
We, thankfully, ordered only one secondo and shared it between the two of us. Even doing this there was enough food for the two of us on this one secondo when purchased with the two contorni.
This fabulous and inexpensive restaurant is really, really good. The atmosphere was just right, the lighting good and bright, and the proportions of the dining room were just perfect. A litre of good red "a casa" was only €5.
Afterwards we strolled up the panoramic view and also up the other side of the river to the castello, in order to see the village of Piobbico and to walk off our repast. It was a delightful day.
After our walk we stopped at the Crazy Bar for a drink but that is another review.
Do yourselves a favour. Go to this little secret gem!

SWMBO and I had just been exploring this lovely little town whilst exploring the area around Urbino. Feeling hungry we looked for somewhere to eat and, entirely by accident as we had, to all intents and purposes given up on finding anywhere open, we found this little gem. We knew we had found the right place as it was full of locals taking lunch. The menu is based on local ingredients (including freshly picked truffles) and the dishes are cooked to order. We ordered two courses each together with a half litre of a local white wine. We left after nearly two hours feeling replete and very happy. The owners, 2 brothers one of whom is the chef, were welcoming and even offered the English language menu to us but were very pleased when we said we preferred to read, and order, in Italian. They speak a little English which can lead to amusing conversations. Good point is to, at least, try and speak a little Italian in the smaller out-of-the-way places as you do get a much better service. The restaurant is clean and the service is smart without being over the top. If we are ever int hat area again, we shall certainly go there again. Recommended

My wife and I had been wandering around in Piobbico, a small, quaint village in Marche, when we happened upon Il Burchio at lunchtime. The restaurant is in a beautifully restored building on Via Garibaldi. It is just a few doors away from the Club dei Brutti (google it)!! We had a short wait in the pleasant ante-room, then were ushered in to the quiet and elegant dining room. Small, without feeling crowded. The meal was wonderful, the house wine delicious, service friendly and efficient, the cost very reasonable. Next time we're in Piobbico, we will have to have another meal there.

The quality of the food here was superb. We were quite early for dinner (5.30pm - very early for most Italians) but the waiter said it wasn't a problem. The starter contained truffle and was divine. We spend under $50 here and had a starter, two mains, two desserts and a litre of house wine - you wouldn't get that in the UK! Service was fast too. Go if you get a chance :)
