“Very comfortable and luxurious chalet”
Reviewed September 12, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

The chalet was very clean and well prepared, and we enjoyed our stay very much. Great location in the very enjoyable Val d'Annivier. Nice surroundings for walks / hikes in the summer months.

“Perfect !!!”
Reviewed April 3, 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Third visit to Chalet Grouse and it just gets better and better !!! We filled the rooms to the maximum, two families equalling ten people and had the best Xmas/new year week ever !!! The Chalet is simply beautiful, it has everything you could possibly need as a home from home and is ideally situated to take in a number of ski resorts. Owners John and Tess could not be more helpful both before, during and after a visit as I can testify having left behind some precious cargo this year !! I really can't recommend Chalet Grouse highly enough and yes, we will be going back !!

“What a house!”
Reviewed June 20, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We booked for 5 nights in June 2016. We where stunned when we arrived at the size and location of the house overlooking the valley below and snow topped mountains above. The house had everything you would need & more, and the owner was in contact the whole time before our arrival and was very helpful throughout our stay with any questions we had. The location of the house is within driving distance of everything Switzerland has to offer. Couldn't recommend it more!

“Ticked all the boxes and more”
Reviewed April 24, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

The owners couldn`t have been more helpful, with lots of travel tips and superb local knowledge.
The chalet is so comfy with everything you need and in an excellent position at the top of the pretty village.
You will need a car if you are skiing.
The local ski areas are a short drive from the chalet and we seldom had to queue.
We will definitely return.

“Fabulously appointed and well designed chalet in an unspoilt Swiss Valley”
Reviewed April 23, 2016 for a stay in February 2016

I stayed at Chalet Grouse in February 2016 and rate it extremely highly. The chalet is beautifully appointed, being just beyond and above the village of Ayer but within reach of its amenities. A very well designed interior with generous and comfortable communal areas; an entrance hall with ample room for ski and other equipment and on the middle floor, a large open-plan area for relaxing and dining with well equipped kitchen. Double doors lead out to a large balcony. Plenty of room and flexibility here for a large and diverse group. The 5 en-suite bedrooms are spacious, hot water is plentiful, good washing and drying amenities . Beautiful surroundings and area for skiiers, climbers, walkers, wild flower enthusiasts.... I could go on!

“Wonderful home from home with fantastic views”
Reviewed January 7, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed here over Christmas with another family, 9 of us in total and found the layout of the chalet perfect for us. The property is over three levels with one family having the lower level whilst we took the top floor. The chalet was spotless and had everything necessary to make it feel like home. The living area was large enough for us all to spread out without feeling cramped and the dining table was huge so we could all enjoy Christmas dinner together. John and Tess were really helpful leading up to our holiday, even arranging a turkey for us in the local butchers. Ayer is tiny and very atmospheric with the fantastic old buildings, the church chimes ringing across the valley and the amazing snow capped mountains all add to the charm. The town of Zinnal is a short drive away with plenty of restaurants as well as the ski lift which takes you up to the top of the mountain, which is worth doing even if you don't ski as the views are wonderful and there is a restaurant at the top as well. We drove from Le Havre which took about 12 hours and in hindsight flying would have been better - but a car is necessary if you want to get about.
