We stayed over the road in The Marlborough Vinters Hotel and went across to the Vines Cafe for brekkie two days in a row. Great brekkies and coffees, the staff were very polite and helpful. A not often found gem in wine regions. Very highly recommended. Pancakes come recommended and aren't too sweet.

We had planned on lunching at a nearby winery but after discovering the restaurant wasn't open the day we visited, the Vines cafe was recommended to us. It was a fabulous find for us. The food was lovely, it was a beautiful day so the outside seating was appreciated but the big hit was the great outdoor play area for kids! My kids loved the swings and go-carts as well as having plenty of space to run around. My husband and I shared a platter and it was delicious.

I ate here three times during my stay in Marlborough - twice for lunch and once for breakfast - and really enjoyed it. The food was great, the staff were really friendly serving us even though the first time we arrived was a little after the end of their lunch time.

I actually wished they had similar cafes as we drove south later on during our trip.

Great experience overall and would definitely return

It's been a few months since the new owners took over so thought we might give them another try to see if they have got themselves sorted.
Sunday lunch and they seemed to have a good number of staff on, but long queues as everyone in Blenheim goes to lunch at the same time.

Food came out reasonably quickly, they had to have a couple of goes at getting everything sorted but they eventually got there.

A very narrow selection of food, great if you are into the organic kick, salads etc.
Only have organic soft drinks, no diet options.
Beer selection is great if you are into hop saturated beers.

We been average Joe's, ordered bowls of fries, which were spot on if you like yours soggy and saturated in oil.

Large outdoor seating area but for some reason they have done away with the umbrellas, which on a sunny Blenheim day is a bit warm unprotected.

A few good things that happened recently: playground a lot safer, the veggie garden looks great, the shade sail is a good addition.

The new cafe looks ok but no food in the window after 1:30pm was very disapointing, and the new kids platter is horrendeous ( lollipop, lollies, dried fruit, sweet popcorn, one slice of ham, one piece of cheese and one fruit skewer) on a fancy platter . Please bring back the old kids platter that was good and healthy ( slices of apple, mandarins, natural popcorn, ham, cheese on a tour.
