This is a place where you can stop for some good burgers, see some old fashioned items in a old train station,. I was fascinated to see the bicycles on the curtains.

We stopped at La Gare in Labelle for a mid-morning coffee while cycling Le P'tit Train du Nord cycling and hiking trail through the village. This is an interesting conversion from a former railway station to a restaurant and B&B. The coffee was good as was the service. Adjacent to the station in the former baggage room is a small museum. However, this was not open during our visit to Labelle.

Very tasty plate of ribs with fries deep-fried in duck fat. Delicious salmon with Greek quinoa salad. Best restaurant meal I have had in a long time. Cheerful waitresses who put up with our broken French. And then accommodation in the comfortable upstairs rooms of the renovated train station.

La Gare serbes delicious local food with Québécois favorites like Poutine but also fresh fish, burgers, mussels and delicious soups and salads. You can sit outside in nice weather but there is also a lovely bar area and dining room. Service is slow at times but the food is always delicious and the slower pace makes one relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We stayed at blueberry resort and we thoroughly enjoyed La gare restaurant for our dining out of the cottage. We dined out 5x during the week and 3 of those times were at La gare, breakfast, lunch and dinner with our 2 kids. Food at Tremblanc could not compare. Every meal was fantastic as was the patio and rail car / swings for the kids to play while we enjoyed drinks. In addition to the menu items, I would really recommend the house made bread and the ice cream for dessert, a fantastic spot indeed. Jeff
