What a gem of a place! We loved it here, so thoughtfully prepared and equipped. A couple of small issues which we notified were dealt with excellently by return, otherwise a perfect find and somewhere we would love to visit again later in the year. Totally surpassed expectations ☺ Thank you Karen!
Perfect bolt hole to visit the sites, Culross & Dunfermline within minutes of the cottage. Welcome pack was spot on after an 11 hour drive from Devon. Cottage is clean and tidy with all you could need for a week away from home. Recommend this cottage for a visit particularly if you have dogs the garden is secure and an ample size for their needs, with plenty of walks nearby.
We stayed here for a little over a week and enjoyed it very much.
The cottage has two parking spaces at the back from where you can get to the small garden and the back door of the cottage. That's really practical, so we never used the front door. The back door leads into the kitchen that is well equipped. The only thing I thought was missing was a bigger frying pan, the only one that was there was a tad small. Apart from that everything was there, including washing up liquid, kitchen foil and so on. We even found some milk, tea and tea cakes waiting for us, a very welcome surprise!
The rest of the ground floor is the living room where there's also a large dining table. Upstairs there's the two bedrooms - one double, one single - and the bathroom. Everything was clean. The shower was great - good temperature and pressure - and the provided toilet paper was also much better than in many other holiday homes we've stayed at over the last years.
What was also great was the wifi: quite fast and no problems at all. Moreover, the cottage has central heating and if it got a bit chilly it was really easy to make it warmer. We has a really nice stay and visited many castles and ruins in the area, drove out to Loch Lommond and the Trossachs NP and walked the Forth Bridge. The cottage is also perfectly located for day trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
