We stayed with small children and enjoyed daily walks down the waterfront, lovely meals in the Red Lion and a thoroughly pleasant stay in Culross.
We stayed in Culross as a base to visit family in Fife whilst also enjoying day trips in Edinburgh and St Andrews.
I can't imagine a more enjoyable place to stay anywhere. David, Ann and their team at the Red Lion made us feel so welcome and the quality of Avonview House was five star. It was super clean, peaceful and surprisingly spacious. We felt like we were home. The village of Culross looks like something out of a fairy tale. I woke up very early one morning and took a walk through the village and marveled at the quiet tranquility. Only the birds were chirping as I strolled through the beautiful 16th century cobble stone streets. I should also add that Culross is about as convenient as you can get to everything in Scotland, because it is uniquely situated at the crossroads of the country. When we come back to Scotland, we will look forward to staying at Avonview. It's home away from home.
