Friendly helpful staff and excellent service. Food was delicious and was well presented, we were lucky to get a seat because a lot of the tables were reserved.

Decided to go here with friends for brunch today after reading reviews about the great breakfasts. Used to go regularly to the garden nursery here but have not been for a long time. Lovely welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Cosy decor and an excellent choice of breakfast fare. It was really busy even at 10.30am but the service was excellent. Three "blue breakfasts " and a special of smashed avocado on sourdough bread with poached egg. All absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Great mug of tea too!!Lunch menu also looked very inviting and will return to try!

The welcome was as before warm and most friendly. Even though it was wet and cold outside we were warm and cozy.
The hunters chicken was very good, not at all dry, and the coleslaw was plentiful and tasted good.
The curried vegetable soup came with a nan and was well flavoured , hot and the bowl filled.
Thespeed of the service was good, even though they was busy.
Although it wasn't cheap it still represented good value for money.

My wife and I called in for Breakfast and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.
The place was full and with breakfasts like that it was easy to see why.
We will be back.

It was one of those unplanned lunch stops that was well worth while. We had not been along the Ongar road for years and needed refreshment.
The welcome, service and food were really good. The menu has good selection to suit most people and achieves the balance by not being "run of the mill"
A quaint interesting interior the tables were well occupied by the time our lunch was over.
It was clear from overheard snippets of conversation that quite a few patrons were regulars.
