“Quaint little cottage”
Reviewed May 30, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed for the long weekend over Easter. The cottage was great, with Ricky and Chris more than happy to go out of their way to make our visit as comfortable as possible (the fresh eggs on arrival were a welcome addition).

Great location to travel around the Peak District with Eyam a lovely little village for walking in/around despite the weather.

“Wonderful Eyam experience”
Reviewed May 23, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Had a fabulous short stay in this beautifully appointed little cottage. Ricky & Chris could not have been more welcoming and were genuinely concerned to make sure I had as good a time as possible. They were an invaluable source of info regarding good places to go locally. I only wish my stay had been longer and hope to return and explore more widely! The location is excellent and so quiet and peaceful at night. Off road parking is a definite bonus also.

“Warm and welcoming ”
Reviewed January 31, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We stayed for a week over the New Year. Although it rained a lot we were happy just to potter about. We visited Buxton and Chatsworth and rest of the time we went around Eyam itself. An excellent, restful stay.

“Charming, cosy cottage - perfect for a quiet 'get away'”

We stayed just for the weekend but wished it could have been longer. Chris & Ricky made sure we had everything we might need and gave us some nice tips for walks in the area. (Froggart edge in the fog was beautiful)
The fixtures & fittings in the shippon are all of very high quality and the layout makes it feel spacious yet cosy. We cooked quite a few meals and found everything we needed in the kitchen.
Would recommend to anybody for a weekend or a longer stay.
Thank you

“Cosy cottage in Eyam, handy for walks from your doorstep or touring the Derbyshire Dales”
Reviewed November 2, 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Comfortable and well equipped cosy little cottage in the village of Eyam within easy walking distance of post office, tea shops, general store, excellent pub and Eyam Hall & Museum. Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell all very close are well worth a visit though there are plenty of walks from the cottage without getting the car out. Friendly hosts who have put careful thought into everything including the welcome on arrival , with fresh eggs, milk and plenty of recommendations & leaflets for places to walk, visit, eat etc. They live next door which is handy too.

Just a couple of minor niggles:
The parking at the cottage is not for the faint hearted. See my pictures. Very narrow entrance and don't try going round the back...I made that mistake and still scratched the car on the wall despite parking sensors! If you have a car bigger than eg a Ford KA, I would recommend parking on the road.
Though there is an attractive roll top bath, it is practically impossible to have a shower in it (with the hand held shower head ) without liberally wetting the whole bathroom (no shower curtain) and having to crouch to avoid hitting your head on the lovely old roof beam!

“Lovely cottage, lovely people, beautiful village!”
Reviewed September 9, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We arrived to a warm welcome from Ricky and Chris who showed us around the cottage and gave us plenty of tips on things to do and places to go. The shippon has been beautifully renovated and decorated in a nice cosy style.
Charlie loved seeing the chickens in the garden and the eggs were delicious! Having milk, tea, coffee and oil was an unexpected bonus so thank you for that! The kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook at home too.
We did lots of nice walks around the village and managed to find our way to Calder on the way home for a lovely walk by the river. The free standing bath was another highlight for us! Amazing! For anyone else taking a baby- the travel cot is very comfy so he slept brilliantly.
All in all we had a really lovely stay, couldn't have been better and we hope to come again one day.
Thanks so much Ricky and Chris. x
