Our second visit to Amelie's and it was just as amazing this time round. 4 of us had 2 rooms – Rosalie & Nandette, both rooms are wonderful with everything you could need. The pool and grounds are just as beautiful as we remembered, the location stunning and so convenient for both the airport and Carcassonne. The food cooked by Amelie’s mum is simply divine – market fresh ingredients, exquisitely cooked and just delicious. We begged her to come home with us but no such luck. What really makes this place special though is Amelie who is a wonderful hostess - she really understands how to make her guests feel relaxed and at home, and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you are looking for a bit of R&R and pampering, there really is no better place. Just go. I can't wait to go back...

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful

The owner, Amelie, could not have made our stay better in any way - the level of service she offers, with attention to small details that we had not yet thought to consider, was extraordinary. The house, decor, room, food, garden, pool were fantastic in a very relaxed, comfortable way.
She is also knowledgable about the area and keen to advise and assist with booking ahead for restaurants/bicycle hire etc.
Much as I am happy to try to use my schoolgirl French, it obviously helps that Amelie is fluent in French, English and Spanish!
I cannot wait to return.

5 stars all around for Metairie Montplaisir! We stayed for a week with our two young children (aged 3 and 1) and had the most relaxing break in ages. The children loved playing and exploring in the garden and splashing about in the pool and Amélie was so accommodating about preparing their meals and allowing us access to the kitchen when we needed to obtain cups of milk etc. We loved our room and bathroom, it was very luxurious and also perfectly set up for the kids. There was plenty to explore in the local area and we got some excellent activity and restaurant recommendations from Amélie. Our dinners every evening were a real highlight but above all, the hospitality and warmth shown by Amélie and her family to us made it a truly memorable stay. We would return without hesitation and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We travelled with two very young children, and stayed for a week. Amelie was unfailingly friendly, helpful and patient with us and the children. As the weather was unseasonably cool, we were out most days, and she was an excellent source of information and ideas on what to do and see in the area. She also thoughtfully provided water, beach toys, an umbrella, maps and anything else we needed.
Special mention must be made of the consistently good food we had - each night dinner was a delight, and we enjoyed the local seasonal produce used.
Our room was large and serviced very efficiently while we had breakfast. The garden is huge and the children loved it. We would highly recommend a stay here.

This was an Overnight stop for us and our dog on our return home from Spain. Amelie, the owner and the house are charming, warm and welcoming.
The rooms and bathrooms are beautifully furnished, clean, very comfortable and spacious. Big towels and towelling dressing gowns are provided. We felt very pampered, slept well and woke refreshed.
Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit salad, homemade yogurt etc started the day well. We will definitely be staying again.
This would be a good place to spend a few days and explore Carcasonne and the surrounding area.
