We were here yesterday for our Thursday coffee morning, service here is friendly and efficient. This is a tea room that is busy and well run, the menu is very good and an excellent range of scones and other pastries all home made. I would recomend this tea room to all my friends.

Called today as like to visit small country coffee shops. Expectations were high but service poor and no welcoming smile and really ignored and had to ask for menu etc. Food was not the standard I would expect although only had desserts and coffee. Also expect food all to be presented at same time rather than one plate and then waiting on rest. Outside looks welcoming apart from play area which doesn't have direct access from the decking. The glass house at the back is full of junk easily visible to customers which really lowers the quality image

We had a lovely tea at 3 pm today. My daughter in law and myself had the ploughmans lunch and my friend had the chicken and mango sandwiches. All fresh and tasty. We could not pass the sweet treats on offer. The White Goose is well worth a visit for a friendly welcome and great food.

Friendly and welcomong staff, called for coffee, scones were lovely also had apple tart which was first class. Great wee place to call into. I bet the lunches are excellent. Home cooking at its best.

After collecting a couple of planks of wood from B & Q we were feeling a little peckish but at 11.30 it was too early for lunch and too late for breakfast so we wondered what would be on offer at The White Goose a place we had been to before once for afternoon tea and scones.

Without a clue as to what we wanted other than a break before heading home we inspected the display of 'goodies' and decided on scones served with jam and cream. We asked for wheaten but these were not available and reluctantly agreed to plain white.

While we waited we had a luck at the lunch menu which offers something different every day and to quote from it 'when it gone it is gone!' and to me that's fair. The White Goose is a small quaint little restaurant set in the countryside with real geese - outside, of course! There is a little play park and facilities for eating outdoors weather permitting.

The chef made an appearance as he did the last time to express his appreciation for the business and to be honest his prices are not beyond the roof.

'Despite no wheaten we were not disappointed with the plain scones when they arrived. These were top notch, classy and the type of quality you might just get in a really good five star hotel if you were lucky.

This little place is a gem, run by ordinary people in a rural setting and they deserve our support. If there is anything lacking in staff training it is more than compensated by the experience itself.

The place is spotless and newspapers and magazines are available even if the magazines are a trifle out of date. All generations were there during our short visit and in case i forget we got our little White Goose card stamped which means that when we buy ten teas for coffees we get the 11th free! Its a simple and humble gesture of an entrepreneur that has set out to create something different and we like it a lot.
