The food was excellent though the desserts were average compared to the rest of the meal. The restaurant was far from being full. We waited half an hour for the apetizer and 45 minutes for the main dish. An hour and 45 minutes after our arrival we were still waiting for dessert. When we asked very politely if we had been forgotten, the answer was 'it was in the oven". It certainly was .....a few hours before lunch time. Nobody bothered to give us our coat when we left and we weren't even graced by a good-bye. We will not go back.

Mesdames

Very attractive restaurant. Good welcome from Madame Coste - who speak English ! Menus from 31Euro to 40Euros. Good local wines from 20 Euros. The quality of the cooking was high, and the service from a young waiter excellent. Outside eating on warm days. We would return.

Well worth the drive from Perpignan or Rivesaltes, M. Philippe Coste at the kitchen with the freshest local ingredients. My wife's grilled lamb was perfect - I had the rabbit with snails <<Gigolette de Lapin, Sauce Muscat, Liaison Chocolat, Pâtes Fraîches>> which was extremely tasty but tough to slice off the bone.

Dessert was tasty but <<Fraisier Gourmand, Mousseline Chocolat Blanc, Biscuit de Savoie Pistache>> isn't a particular challenge for a chef of M. Coste's calibre. He is a member of the Toques Blanches - http://www.toques-blanches-du-roussillon.com/Les-chefs/Coste-Philippe.

We drank a very good Hautes Bernes 2004 from Mas de Blanes, made by Marie Bories just a few hundred metres from the village of Pezilla-la-Riviere.

This was the best meal we ate in France this year - alas it was our last night, otherwise we would have returned and explored more of the menu.

A family run restaurant serving up market French food. Boudin noir wrapped in filou pastry was amazing as was the rabbit cooked with snails and pork; the chicken cooked with prawns was excellent too. The pears in Byrrh (local spirit) were great as were the peti pots (particularly the saffron infused custard).

We went twice - kids loved it too. Very informal , very friendly.
