This old 3-star hotel is comfortable and well-equipped. The room price is rather high, given its location in an uninteresting village. To be noted also the difficulty of finding a parking place in the small streets, especially at dinner time.

Very characterful and charming hotel with a court, terras and swimmingpool. Located at a quiet street. Staff is also very kind and helpfull. And the beds are very good. Located very near the beautiful town of Beaugency.

Forced by the SNCF strike to rent a car to get from CDG to Bordeaux we needed a stopover that provided a bed and onsite food.

La Tonnellerie fitted the bill. Only a few km off the autoroute and only a few hours from Paris.

No street presence but lovely inside with historic rambling building and hallways. Huge rooms, and ours had a large window, sun filled, and nice views over the gardens. Parking on street or through a narrow driveway and limited in the grounds. Elevator.

Bed was sprung and comfy although it was two large singles pushed together with a top cover and the resultant ridge down the middle.

Garden is lovely and an ideal spot for relaxing with a book or a pre dinner drink.

Dinner and continental breakfast were good but the highlight was the cheese plate. Excellent selection.

Room Tip: Second (top) floor wiil avoid possible noise from guests upstairs.

This lovely family run hotel sits very conveniently on our regular travels in a north south axis. This is my third review in as many years and I make no excuses for this. Hélène and François manage their desire for bio perfection, good regional food and absolute comfort for their guest with excellent professionalism. At no time have our overnight stays been anything other than anticipated pleasure. We have a dog who is always welcomed here and we have found some great walks from the hotel down to the Loire and to Beaugency along the bank and back. Breakfast is superb and full of personally prepared and locally sourced produce.

Always a pleasure.

What a fabulous find this hotel is! Almost too good to share as it really is a hidden gem!
We booked two nights here so I could celebrate my birthday in the Loire region.
We were greeted with a warm welcome by Monsieur and Mme Thevard and shown to our cosy and comfortable rooms - a suite with hallway, walk in closet, toilet, living room, bedroom and newly refurbished ensuite bathroom with a fabulous shower. Bath robes and slippers were provided too. The room was traditionally furnished to a good standard, very clean and looked out over the pretty garden of the inner courtyard. There were tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water provided and the free WiFi worked well.
The hotel had a great restaurant with a delicious and varied menu using locally sourced and organic produce. I really enjoyed my birthday dinner. There was a superb choice of drinks and wines too, many of them locally produced. The table service was attentive but not intrusive. You could retire afterwards to the guest sitting room or sit outside and enjoy after dinner drinks.
Breakfast was amazing. One of the best selections of morning goods found anywhere in our extensive travel experiences. The conserves and jams are exceptional!
As a coeliac I was well catered for with delicious gluten free breads and cakes both at breakfast and dinner. We had informed the hotel of my needs at the time of booking.
There is also an option to order packed lunches for days out.
The hotel also has an outdoor pool so makes sure you pack your swimwear.
The hotel has an interesting history too and it’s possible to purchase jams and other local produce during your stay. Lots of information is provided for guests to help explore the area. We certainly look forward to returning.
