We visit La Lucciola last year several times and the quality of food was not consistent. This year they did'nt serve their fish and chips (delicious) anymore and I ordered the fritura mista. Its was a greasy, blend dish. Prepared without any love and inspiriation.
Just like last year, very unpleasant and unfriendly staff, but at least last year the food was (sometimes) delicious.
We will not return to La Lucciola. Too bad, because it is a very nice place to sit. They will kill their bussiness because the lagg of hospitality and inconsistency in preparing their food.

Thank Karin M

Last year we went to this restaurant because they offered Sushi but in fact we ended up in enjoying a huge plate of good looking fresh and tasty raw fish "Italian style" including oisters! It was expensive, in comparison to Italian average prices, but we never regretted the expense because it was simply delicious.
The restaurant is also directly at the seaside with a nice view of the old small tower of Marina di Campo and on the gulf. As lucky as we were there was also music. Very romantic and super tasteful indeed.
So this year we wanted to repeat this wonderful experience, and went there again. Inspite the beauty of the place which is unchanged, the cook left. The new cook has - as it seems - no idea of how to prepare raw fish, which was probably still frozen when served, for which reason it probably melted on the plate, so it was watery, tasting like simply nothing, with the exception of the scampis. We were also served soy sauce (Italian Style??) and a kind of horrible coconut, aperol and batida MOLECULAR caviar, which we never asked for, but we had to pay of course, as included with our plate. No oisters. We had one glass of prosecco each, one bottle of water, two coffees. Expense: over 100 € for what is considered as an entree and had really nothing to do with last year's gorgeous plate.
As to the music, this time we had behind us screaming children, one of which shouting without pause, he wanted an hamburger (in a quite "noble" fish restaurant). We have children ourselves, but left them home with a babysitter to enjoy our sole evening out "in two" after years! Last year families with children were placed in one half of the restaurant, the adults in the other part.
We also had the impression, by looking at other plates prepared for other customers, that the overall quality has lowered extremely, inspite the well dressed and friendly waiters. (We are Italians too, so we know how things should look like and be prepared).
Very disappointing.
No, we are surely not going there again next year, a pity, because the place is very beautiful.

Had dinner w a party of 9, little alcohol trunken but still in excess of 400 Euro.

Filet de manzo was a high cut. Excellent. Also tried the dark penne (blackened) which left little to desire.

Again, best location but highend Italian cooking in friendly atmosphere - with a bill to cover but hey, you only live once!

Wonderful restaurant with a beautiful view of the bay, went for dinner and enjoyed the pink sky and later the rising full moon over the sea :) The service was absolutely impeccable, incredibly impressed by our waiter who spoke perfect English and was kind and welcoming, as were all the staff. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and not overly expensive at all for the level of service and the quality. Very good local wines and spirits too. Lovely touches such as a small local delicacy of mussels with breadcrumbs as a pre-appetiser and yummy biscuits with coffees at the end of our meal. I wish we hadn't discovered La Lucciola on our last night but will return to Elba and this restaurant!
