I couldn't decide what to think about all the positive comments about the owners of the hotel I've read here, but after we spent a couple of days there it became clear that Ugo and his wife genuinely care about the satisfaction of their guests and that describes the level of service perfectly.
The rooms are simple but well equipped and clean and the same could be said about the hotel itself. The food was excellent, although a bit light on the breakfast side, but the varied, delicious and filling lunches and dinners more than made up for that. I don't consider myself a gourmet, but I felt I got to experience a wide range of the local foods at a high quality, which was way more than what I expected. I regret not getting full board.
The town is easy to explore from the hotel with the provided bikes and the beach is only a ten minute walk away, which makes the hotel just secluded enough to provide a peaceful environment for relaxation as well.
The only things lacking were the parking space and the ability to pay with my debit card. You will be able to park your car, but getting it out when you want to might require the coordinated effort of the other guests and the hotel staff.
I don't know how stars are given out in Italy, but Hotel Atenea gets a 5 star recommendation from the Pálóczi family.

We spent two vacations at this hotel - 1 week in Sept 2012 and 1 week in June 2013.
I start my review with Ugo - owner and manager of the hotel. He does everything for his guests. He and all personnel are very kind, taking care of guests, always remember guests' requests and fulfilling them if they promised. You immediately feel very warmly and family atmosphere.
Most guests are Italians, German/Austrians, then Eastern and Northern Europe. Rather older couples or families - very nice atmosphere among all.
Hotel is 1 star probably because it is without elevator and swimming pool, otherwise I think it could get 3 stars with few other small improvements. Hotel and rooms are rather simple but very clean (proper daily cleaning) and suiting to most of people.
The hotel is located in a pretty quiet area. To the beach it is less than 5 minutes where you find your 2 sun beds and an umbrella.
Order full or half board. Excellent Italian food. Every day you chose from 4 first dishes (pasta) and from 3 main dishes (never repeating). We always gained some kilos of weight - better to order half portions. Good range of vegetable and fruit buffet. Ugo sometimes cooks a dessert to the dinner - we called him a king of cakes.
My wife has a special diet - no milk products and gluten. The kitchen never made an error, never contained food (used separate tools and pans), provided special pasta and any food she ordered they modified and replaced ingredients. We recommend for people with diets.

Room Tip: Ask for renovated rooms. If you take a cheaper room then air conditioning is for EUR 4/night if you need.

I booked a room by telephone the night before we would arrive in Caorle and the very friendly and enthusiastic host Hugo was very keen on helping me. He did have a very lovely room for us on the top floor (no elevator, keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage), street side with a balcony.

The rooms are very simple but very functional! A soft twin bed, a very good ceiling fan and an own bathroom with toilet and shower. There is WiFi available, but its range is rather poor and we were unable to use it in our room. After seeing the private beach (with complimentary sunchairs and parasol) we were already hooked and decided to ask if it was possible for us to stay 2 nights.
Hugo did his best to accomodate us in this and managed to get us another room for a second night. The nights rest was rather good despite the heat, with the ceiling fan on low speed and the roll shutters closed for a totally dark room. The 2nd room was of a bit less quality than our first, lacking a balcony and having a smaller bathroom but it did the job getting us through the night.
The breakfast is good, with plenty to choose from; cold cuts, yoghurt, breakfast cereal and a nice coffee machine that can make quite a variety of coffees. The hotel bar provides a nice and relaxed winddown from a busy beachday.

Don't let the 1 star rating fool you! Hotel Atenea is a wonderful place to stay when you are spending a beach holiday in lovely Caorle.

I could not believe this is a one star hotel. It has simple but nice and freshly renovated rooms, AC, free WIFI and an excellent athmosphere. It is close (rd. 250m) to the private beach. Extras are not expensive (1,- for the espresso and 9,- for the bottle of nice local wine). The hotel is very clean. It is run by the owner, his wife and some very friendly staff. Free bikes and free parking... A real recommendation !
