“Wonderful villa with gorgeous grounds and views and a most gracious staff (Simon and Verity)”
Reviewed 5 August 2013 for a stay in May 2013

My friends and I rented out the entire villa (10 of us -- 14 for a few nights) together in May. We had a wonderful time there. The owners (Simon and Verity) are terrific and friendly and very accommodating. We enjoyed them thoroughly. The villa is full of old charm and character and the grounds and views are spectacular. It's also tons of fun to meet the other guests staying there and I would highly recomment the weekly dinner that Verity cooks for all the guests; it's wonderful food and a great way to connect with other fellow travelers at the Patrignone. Simon and Verity made the stay there great!

“Delightful B&B in the heart of Chianti”
Reviewed 5 August 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Simon and Verity were the perfect hosts - warm, welcoming and helpful. They run a lovely, family-friendly B&B from their beautiful Tuscan villa. The room was very comfortable, the food delicious and the location well-placed for exploring the towns and countryside of the Chianti region. Warmly recommended.

“A Truly Tuscan Home away from Home feel”
Reviewed 30 January 2013 for a stay in August 2012

I stayed at Podere Patrignone with a large group of friends for a wedding. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Simon, we felt nothing but welcome and were nothing but amazed by this fine facility. The apartments were all classically styled, impeccably clean, and well-furnished with everything we could want (especially the fresh fruit and bread in our kitchen after the long travels). The grounds and views are simply breathtaking yet authentic. Both Simon and Verity ensured everyone understood how the villa ran and worked in order for us to maximize our use and enjoyment. It felt like somone was always running to find one of them to answer some questions about the area, our day trips and recommendations. Never were they anything but gracious, and extremely helpful. For my first trip to Italy, I could not have asked for a better feeling of home, family and friends...even so far way.

“First time to Tuscany, look no further....”

Simon and Verity are wonderful hosts. After 24 hours all eight of us, that traveled together, felt like we were part of the family. The beauty of staying in this place is a group can travel, all have their own private room with bath. We had the blue room that had a tub. We love to soak so this was perfect for us.
We chose to have breakfast provided each day and that saves a lot of time when you are getting ready to head out for the day. Speaking of heading out, the road in and out can be a bit rough, but as long as you are back before dark you should have no fear, even on a rainy day (we had one).
Verity also puts on a fabulous dinner if you choose. There were so many courses I lost count. I can still taste and smell the dessert(s).
Buying the local wine that Simon provides is a value and very nice. You simply are on the honor system and fill the bottle as needed.
Over the two weeks we were able to travel in any direction and see the lovely nearby cities, have a late lunch, and still return in time to sit out on the patio with good friends, wine, cheese, and crackers.
This is certainly a perfect place for those traveling with a small or large group.
Oh, let's not forget the fabulous kitchen in the Villa. Everything you need is there and includes a huge dining table that seats more than you would care to invite.
Looking for a centrally located place to stay in the Chianti Region, you will not be sorry here. The convenience of Castelina in Chianti being the closest city is terrific. Good for supplies, several wonderful restaurants, and of course plenty of Gelato. Cheers!

“Excellent Tuscany experience for a group!”
Reviewed 11 November 2012 for a stay in October 2012

Four couples traveling together spent a week in this wonderful villa in the Chianti region. Views are spectacular and the location between Florence and Siena is perfect for short trips, local markets or day trips. The setting feels like home away from home. Each room is decorated with charm and theme, down to the smallest detail. The huge vintage kitchen was our gathering place when not on the spacious terrace. Simon and Verity create a warm family atmosphere in a relaxed, environmentally friendly setting. Expect a lovingly restored property and structure with its historic character preserved. There are several charming outdoor spots to enjoy, including a gorgeous separate pool terrace. Wonderful wine, olive oil and fresh provisions for your first meal await you upon arrival. Do take advantage of a dinner prepared by Verity while you are there. Her cooking is amazing! In addition, their recommendations for local dining were outstanding. No better place for a relaxing vacation!

“A little gem in Tuscany”
Reviewed 20 August 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We had the pleasure of spending 5 glorious days at Patrignone in July. It was everything we had hoped Tuscany would be. We loved every moment, as did our two girls, aged 11 and 14. We were able to finally relax, after many days of travelling, and visiting busy cities like Venice and Milan. We spent part of our days visiting some of the local sites, but looked forward mainly to lazing about by the beautiful pool, or visiting with the chickens hiking with the dogs (Charly and Lola). Our two bedroom apartment was the perfect combination of rustic and elegance. I marvelled to Verity and Simon about how glorious the bedding was, with crisp white sheets perfectly ironed ( thanks Pam!). It made getting in to bed every night a special treat.
The location is perfect, for visiting many wonderful towns and villages. Only a short drive away from Florence, Siena, San Giminiagno. We fell in love however with the tiny town of Castellina, which was only ten minutes away. We will definitely go back!
Simon, Verity and their lovely children were supremely hospitable and made the vacation extra special for us. We thoroughly enjoyed their company, as well as their helpful advice on how to get around and where to eat. We were very lucky to meet some other lovely guests, and spent many an evening outside on the patio ,chatting late into the night over a glass of Chianti.
A truly memorable holiday for us.
