We stayed in Crotone to visit extended family in late October at the end of the season when the weather was starting to turn cooler, especially at night. The owner and his family were very pleasant and polite, but Gianni (the owner) said, "if you feel cold, there are blankets in the room." My wife and I shivered under the blankets each night and cuddled to stay warm. On the last morning, as we were leaving, he said, "You know the air conditioner unit also functions as a heater." I could not believe that he told us that only as we were packed and ready to depart.
Also, a true B & B offers a real breakfast. This place had a do-it-yourself coffee maker that we didn't dare touch and dried toast in plastic packages. Nice breakfast (not).
On the positive side, the room was clean and the bathroom adequate. Located only a block from the beach, we took walks along the waterfront and found a nice coffee house where we took our breakfast. We were never able to connect to the WiFi, which was advertised as free.More
