PROs:
- Hearty breakfast that includes various home made dishes!
- Friendly staff
- Quiet neighbourhood
- Orange tree in front of my room window
CONs:
- My single room really small and practically blended with the bathroom
- The bed too soft for my preference
- Location up the hill with steep ascent
I believe the experience in a normal double room would be much better and made me easily award Park Hotel Castello all five stars. I was too lazy to cross the street and check the swimming pool. The location up the hill could be a problem for some people especially on the way back to the hotel. On the other hand I walked with my (light and wheeled) suitcase from/to the train station (approx. 1km away) and admit it's a challenge with luggage, but not a big problem for a daily routine when you are carrying just a beach bag. Would I go back? If the price remains competitive, definitely yes.

I have slept in this hotel for one night before leaving again and continuing a trip to the north/centre of Italy. I have to say that, although the room was very clean and quite cheap (considering the area), it looked a bit outdated and shower was very narrow, especially for big guys like me. Receptionist and waiters were extremely kind and we had interesting chats about travelling and other topics while consuming a stunning hand made breakfast. From an overall perspective, the above features did not allow this structure to achieve a 5 rate but I am very happy to give a 4. Excellent quality/price ratio.

Family owned hotel. Small, with very cozy atmosphere. Old walls of "castello" which gave the name to this place makes the view something special. Just few steps from the hotel you will find and large staircase which leads to the sea promenade with its beaches and restaurants. In 5 mins from all attractions of Finale Ligure. Easy to go down, real fitness challenge to go up :)

Balcon on the fist floor we took was enormous. Rooms are simple, but nice. I missed refrigerator, and safe in the room worked with bugs but the rest was ok. Good food and really nice coffee.

I loved this hotel. it is difficult to perceive differently than home. I could not wish for a better place to stay. There is in a 15th century castle with a beautiful yard and pine trees. The road to the left - to the observation deck, very nice. Five minutes from the sea, but back up the hill on the stairs, fitness)
Room with french window and a small balcony. Cleaning was delicately, every day.
Very friendly staff as family. They speak good german, some in english. Always help, and have a pleasant conversation. A delicious breakfast. Sufficient choice, great cakes. This is not a luxury service, it's like visiting friends.
The city itself is the best in Liguria. 130 km to Nice, 100 km to Monaco. Portofino and Chinkviterre - 2.5 hours journey by train.
