I mirror the opinions in the last two reviews having just returned from a week's stay at this hotel with Thomson UK. On arrival we were told that we could only stay one night in the room allocated (with a side balcony - don't bother) as someone else had booked the room so we had to move rooms the next day. We were told we would be given a bottle of wine as a consequence (no wine materialised!). The original room had a balcony that sits between two buildings and really wasn't worth it as it overlooks an alleyway. That room (201) wasn't very nice either - awkward furniture layout and a bathroom door that banged into the bidet when opened, The second room had a better layout and bigger bathroom with a view of the next door building's wall and it was small, tired and in need of refurbishment. The bins are put out at 6.45am (very noisy) and the plumbing in the hotel is guaranteed to wake you around 7am if the bins haven't. We were unfortunate enough to be in a room with neighbours that must have been unwell as they spent two nights using the loo every 30 mins during the night (and yes you can hear everything including a very creaky toilet!) so we got very little sleep those two nights. The fridge in neither room worked and there is no room/hotel information stating the costs of the drinks in the mini bar so we assumed naively that the warm bottled water was included and ended up with a 21 euro water bill. The room keys are stored on a rack located in a lobby area accessible by the general public using the restaurant loos and other guests. As it includes the key for the in-room safe and offers no security whatsoever we removed the heavy keyring and took the keys with us. The breakfast was adequate but as someone else said there was always something missing. The rooms were very clean but I would recommend staying at one of the better hotels located away from the lake side as the view from your room is likely to not be a lake view anyway so it's not worth compromising on quality to be closer to the lake. The resort is so small that you really don't need to walk far from the lake to stay in a nicer hotel (we previously stayed at Hotel Sole pre swimming pool and that was far nicer and provided a much better service for about the same price). We did eat in the restaurant and the food was actually very nice and reasonably priced although the restaurant area, like the hotel, could do with refurbishment/updating. Definitely go up a star when picking a hotel as I would say that this 3 star is the equivalent of a UK 2 star.

Room tip: Pick another hotel

Just returned from a disappointing weeks stay. The staff try very hard & the rooms are kept clean but their just seems a lack of care around the place. Their never seemed to be anybody in charge so getting information about the locality was impossible as their was no info pack in the rooms. The breakfast was hard work as their always seemed to be something missing & the coffee machine was prehistoric. Our room balcony windows opened onto a brick wall & an alley way which was noisy when used by the staff early morning. This noise was nothing compared to the plumbing in the rooms as every time a toilet was flushed the whole building echoed making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The only good point was the location near to the ferry point & the surprisingly quiet location.

Hotel Miralago is situated on the Promenade in Lazise (Lake Garda) with great views of the Lake and very close to the town center. Please note that there is no parking at the Hotel and guest have to park in the main car park about 300m away at a cost of approx. 10 to 12 Euros per day. The breakfast is only served between 8.00am to 9.30am and is very basic continental breakfast; also there is no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Expect to be awoken at around 7.00am when the street cleaner come around to mechanically sweep the promenade or earlier we were serenaded by a drunken Irish man between 3am to 5am on one of nights stay at the hotel. The room itself was clean but was basic with only limited storage space and plug sockets, also the mini TV controller was not matched to the TV and the wifi was at best only 2 out of 10 when it did work it was at snail pace but the room did have air conditioning.
The Hotel does have a restaurant but in the 5 nights we stayed we never saw anyone have lunch or dinner there.
Would I stay here again for location Yes, but for everything else No.

We stayed 10 nights at the Miralago. It's a small hotel, family run I believe. The room we stayed in had a part view of the lake with a lovely large balcony. The room and hotel was spotlessly clean. Continental breakfast with a fair choice. Eat in the hotel outdoor restaurant a couple of times next to the harbour, the food was very nice.

The only criticism we have was that the bed wasn't the most comfortable we've slept on.

5* for the natural views of Lake Garda and nice food HOWEVER for the Hotel itself it was a utter shambles. Some of the issues we had with room number 105 were:

Broken air conditioning in peak weather (unresolved after many complaints*)
Broken hinges on doors
Broken towel rail
Mould in bathroom
Safe was unbolted therefore easily portable (possible skeleton key?)
Cobwebs
Balcony needed maintenance

*As for the staff, the manger was very complacent and did not seem to bothered, in fact he shrugged his shoulders in other words get on with it! Julian, Reddy and two other waiters were the only friendly staff willing to communicate with the customers.

Don't be misled by this hotel!
