A lovely looking hotel with really nice staff and far reaching views of Lake Garda. We had a room at the front of the hotel that we paid extra for but found it really noisey as the hotel reception and terrace were below. The air conditioning was very good as the weather was warm but we could not turn it off as it was controlled by the reception, the only way to get it to go off was by opening the balcony door and this alas also let in the noise from the terrace. The room was also a little tired and needed refurbishing. the breakfast were very good and everyones needs were well catered for, although the food in the evening was a bit repetative and there was no vegatarian options and when requested the hotel were unable to produce any.
A great hotel if you want to stay on site and undertake all of the activities and probably really good for families. However, if you want to sightsee around the lake or stroll in the town in the evening htis is not the hotel for you. It is very far out from Garda town and whist there is a free public service bus it only runs in the mornings for about 3 hours and and in the afternoons for the same 3 hours finishing about 7pm. It is much too far to walk into town and at night there is nothing to do in the hotel except sit in the bar or terrace. We found ourselves spending at least 2 hours each day getting to and from the hotel and not having anything to do in the evenings after dinner. We did get a taxi one night into the town and really enjoyed the time spent by the lake but it cost over 20 euros for the taxi and as there are few taxis you are never sure that you will be able to get one back to the hotel. We went with Thomson and their description of the distance and availabilty of transport was missleading, the flights were lousy too so we would not go with Thomson again, nor would we stay so far out of the town. But must stress great hotel if you want to stay around the grounds and don't mind the noise in the bars and from the early morning trippers
