First time in Italy and first place we stayed. Honestly, was first a bit desappointed by the place (I must say, pictures on their web site are WELL taken!). But after a while, we started to really enjoy the place. The location is great (close to market and to different beaches), the swimming pool is amazing (note that the Fattoria is divided in 3 different places with each place its own swimming pool. You'll need to take our car to reach the other places). Some little glitches on the service (missing part of the breakfast delivery, loud music at 8h30 in the restaurant, missing expresso machine)...but eh...this is Italy, right! Anyway, all that was fixed thanks to the great people managing this place. All in all, I would recommend this place.

We, means 2 adults and 2 kids, spent 1 week at Fattoria San Lorenzo. Have booked the house at Casa Livia, which in my opinion is the best choice as you have a direct access to the office and restaurant. Spot called "Capanne" I found a bit weird and too far away from any other facilities. Our 2-floor appartment was huge and comfortable enough. The air-condition worked fine and almost noisless. The bathrooms might be a bit cleaner and there was a strange humid smell below the sink but considering you spend majority of time outside, this was okay. The biggest hurdle were mosquitos, which are active actually the entire day and night. The biggest value of this place is nice garden enviroment, pool and very friendly staff. If you want to relax from crowded beaches, this is definately a place worth considering, especially if you go there out of the high season. Our stay at June was almost not spoiled by any neighbours! From Casa Livia you have also a very easy access to commercial mall (5 minutes by car) where you can find almost everything.

We have just returned from a fabulous 4 night sty at Fattoria San Lorenzo. The setting is idyllic and very quiet, but still it only takes two minutes to get to the nearest large shopping complex and five minutes to the town. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and went out of their way to be accomodating. A beautiful breakfast arrived at our door each morning which we were able to eat it on the spacious terrace. The restaurant was also excellent. The apartments are spacious and air conditioned and well equipped. If you are arriving after 6 make sure to contact the hotel as The Cabanne is not so easy to find in the dark It is a perfect place from which to explore Tuscany! We will definitely return.

4.3/5

Room Tip: Make sure you call in advance if check in will be late as Cabanne is difficukt to find in the dark

I really loved staying here. The location was beautiful as was the accommodation! The food in the restaurant was amazing and the staff were friendly, and they didn't mind our awful attempts at Italian, and even taught us a few new words! The value for money here really couldn't be better! The pool was a good size and always clean. The only downfall is there are parts of the hotel that could do with a bit of updating and it was quite hard to find. The hotel is close to Grosetto which offers easy access to the rail and bus stations which go into Rome and Florence which was handy.

Ideal for families with kids as each apartment is self catering which allows you to organize the day according to your needs
Nice pool an nice quiet agrarian area
Restaurant opens only at night but it's worth a try or two or three!
Staff is very friendly and although in the middle of nowhere it's located conveniently for day trips
Marina Di grosseto or Castiglione Della pescaia for the sea.
Rome two hours away
Siena 40 minutes away
And many more places which this incredible region offers .

We stayed there for one week as part of a 2 weeks car drive. Our place was a self-contained, 2 bed room apartment called “ Il Pozzino”. The compound has a nice green appearance, is tidy and is well-kept. We were lucky not to be in the main building, which was adjacent to a country road with regular (speeding) traffic and trucks. So, we could enjoy the quietness of the place very much. The apartment was close to surrounding cities and easy to reach. A small shopping center with a big supermarket full with Italian goodies is a 5-minutes car drive away.

The apartment has a nice, country style appearance and is comfortable. Beds are ok, aircons do their work well. The kitchen equipment is poor, though, due to the not uncommon attitude of managers to assume their guests dine out anyway. I am a hobby cook, so my perspective is rather different. This point needs attention, as it somewhat spoils the image of this lovely place.

About dining out: the main building (Casa Livia) has a very nice restaurant that can easily compete in quality with alternatives you have in the towns nearby. Good atmosphere there, decent prices and friendly service.

I would most definitely recommend the Il Pozzino apartment for people wanting to explore the Maremma area and enjoy a peaceful place to stay – TIP: do not book the main building if you want to avoid any remembrance of traffic during your holiday.

Room Tip: For extra peace and quietness, book Il Pozzino rather than Casa Livia.

Ideal location for a relaxing holiday. The only noise is bird song. Description of accommodation misleading on Hotels.com who we booked through. Management, who were extremely helpful and polite, said they would sort that problem out. Our apartment was at the Pozzina property at the far end of the estate. It could have been cleaner and although the company we booked through said they were serviced daily, they weren't serviced at all during our stay. Towels were changed every three days but we were given extras whenever we asked. Bed linen could be changed on request. The on site restaurant was only average, tried it on our first evening, however it is an independent business. Isacco and Serena could not have been more helpful. The best aspect of this property is the pool, absolutely idyllic if you want peace, rest and relaxation.
