We had the most amazing and romantic stay in Maiori. We visited Pompeii and mini cruised along the Amalfi coast visiting Positano, Amalfi and the Emerald Grotto but what made this visit perfect was the stay in the Hotel Pietra di Luna in Maiori. The hotel location right on the promenade and in front of their private beach with their nice amenities, huge and refreshing pool plus their services, specially in the restaurant with delicious food and our favorites Mâitre Gerardo and Waiter Luigi made Maiori one of our favoritest cities during our trip around Italy. Maiori has so much history, charm and life to share. We visited their museums and castles, taste and loved their local wine, ate gelato and even dance at nights on their streets. They even had fireworks every night! Really loved and enjoyed it so much that woulda love to return!

While conveniently located and pleasantly staffed we were disappointed in the quality of the bed in our room. It’s time for this hotel and others across Italy to upgrade their torture mattresses. Ours was so hard I had to sleep on my back only. The pillows were just as bad. Our breakfast was good. We had asked for upgraded room weeks prior but never got a response back. Pretty sure I won’t return.

I was disappointed in this Hotel. The staff were not very friendly we seem to have had a group of older men serving us dinner that didn't really want to ne there. The bed was very hard so asked for a topper pad which helped. The pool was lovely but very cold. Over all I was disappointed.

We had a room on the 3rd floor with a large balcony. It was pretty dated but that wasn't a problem. Our only problem was that the bed was really hard and very uncomfortable. Our lovely housekeeper put a double layer of mattress toppers on the beds and it was a bit better but not much. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are lovely. Good pool area and lovely beach area with sun beds, parasols and beach towels. Food was fine and service was very good. Such a shame about the beds - hope that they will get more comfortable mattresses in the future.

Room Tip: All double rooms have a side sea view or front sea view. Higher floors have a better view.

We visited this fab hotel in the last week of August. The hotel is amazing and has wonderful design features dating back to the 60's when it was built. It's a design classic and I really hope the management keep these lovely features especially in the communal areas such as the reception, bar and ladies toilets.
The hotel were very accommodating with regards to our room request and we had a newly renovated room on the first floor. It was beautifully decorated and very stylish in design. We had a lovely big bed which was very comfortable and a jacuzzi bath which was a nice treat.
The hotel is spotless and the staff work so hard to keep it that way. The maids do a great job and the hotel has a turn down service in the evening too where they change the towels and toiletries and generally tidy the room.
When we arrived at 11.00 in the evening we were given a small meal of typical Italian antipasti which was delicious.
We were half board and the food was generally good. I enjoyed all the starters and most of the mains. The pasta and risotto dishes were very tasty and authentic. Some of the mains were not all to my choice but nothing that we couldn't eat.
We had a special Italian evening one night and the food was excellent and we all enjoyed the entertainment too.
The resort is well placed and the beach is clean and you get free sun beds.
The sand is pebbles and I wish I had brought sea shoes to wear in the sea as it's a bit painful on your feet.
Maori is a lovely resort with lot of restaurants and cafes. We had ice cream most nights in the gelato shops .
I would go back as it's a great base to explore and a very good hotel too.
