Very nice staff, always friendly and approachable and helpful. Must have been refurbished recently as generally in excellent decorative order. Good view from window across country and Sant Agata below. Other side of hotel probably has sea view. Worth a walk up to the monastery close by as gives fantastic view of peninsula.
Breakfast good buffet style, slightly weird self service coffee machine but can request individual coffee made by staff at the bar. Half board evening meal maybe not Michelin starred but I don’t think we had a single poor meal at all. Interesting anti-pasta provided at each meal. Always vegetarian option as well.
Room adequate size, with balcony. Noise from machine below was rather annoying if sitting on balcony (approx 55dB) as it seemed to cut in quite frequently- not sure what it was for, whether related to air conditioning or the pool. With balcony doors and shutters closed you can’t hear the machine outside while in the bedroom, which was good. Air conditioner in room worked well. Strangely there was no extraction fan in the bathroom just an open window. Pool is little bit small, but well appointed with chairs and loungers. The hotel is 850-900m from the bus stop in Sant Agata. The journey from Sant Agata is uphill all the way so that was good exercise for me. There didn’t seem to be any sort of shuttle service so if you can’t do the hill you will be using taxis, though I note there were car rental banners up in the hotel car park...
There is a regular bus service from Sant Agata into Sorrento for €1.30 each way. So it is easy to get around the area.
Would certainly recommend the hotel to others if you want somewhere outside of the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. If we were going back to that particular area would have no problem staying there again.
I booked this hotel on a whim about 3 weeks before we were due to leave. The hotel is lovely; quiet, no shouting, no ball games in the pool. We had a kitchen but ate in the hotel too. The 25 Euro menu was delicious. A fabulous holiday.
This is lovely family owned hotel which commands an excellent position with great views. The rooms are modern, very comfortable and clean. We were booked half board and we all agreed the meals were delicious and authentic and we looked forward to eating in the hotel every night. The owners and their staff do such a fantastic job to make you feel welcome, combining attention to detail with a sense of humour - Guiseppe and Ima thank you so much. We were introduced to the Limoncello spritz by the lovely couple who ran the garden restaurant and bar, which were the best we tasted in our opinion (and we tasted a few!). The pool and garden area is a perfect mix of sunny and shaded areas and well tended. A short walk downhill to Sant Agata and you can get the bus to most areas of interest - in particular, we would recommend the road train which takes about 3 hours, stopping off at various places of interest (most involving tasting local food and drinks).
Recently returned from a week's holiday at the Hotel O Sole Mio in Sant Agata. Jet 2 amended our hotel at the last minute and we were so pleased about the change ! The hotel staff were most welcoming, our room was spacious and comfortable with a small balcony and the upgrade from B&B to half board was great. It is a short walk down into the town which offers many choice of restaurant and general shopping. You can take the bus to Sorrento where you can take the train to Pompeii or a ferry to the Island of Capri which is well worth a visit. Amalfi Coast is also close by. Would recommend as a great spot to visit the local area. Thank you to Guiseppe, the head waiter, for looking after us in the restaurant - he does a great job!
