Our group of 50 hillwalkers from Ireland visited Sicily for a week to celebrate our walking club's 30th Anniversary. Originally we were to be located in Giardino Naxos but the G7 summit falling during the same week necessitated the change in location to Hotel La Bussola. I got the sense that this hotel may not regularly cater for such large groups but in the circumstances they could not have been more helpful and professional. Rooms were comfortable and spotless, food was superb and the s on the floor where we sipped pre dinner drinks looking at the sun setting over the water was the icing on the cake.

Really nice, modern facilities. A comfortable bed, spotless amenities and no noise on the night we stayed. Breakfast was fresh, with a varied selection, to accomodate individual tastes.
The staff were really friendly & helpful. The location is close to the ferry terminal.
Our only issue was the air conditioning was not operational. In both of the rooms we had.

Used this visit as accommodation as a base for a day trip to Lipari because of the uncertainty associated with possible adverse weather issues with the Ferry trip. Town could not justify to be considered a tourist destination in its own right but is set up to capitalise on its position as the gateway to the Aeolian Islands. Venue says it is approx 300 metres from Ferry Terminal. In my opinion it is closer to 500 metres. But still within a comfortable 10 minute walk (after considering walking across relatively heavy traffic). Hotel is very modern with well appointed rooms. Staff are very accommodating in the provision of information and attending to any issues users may have. Bed, whilst firm, delivered us 2 very good nights sleep. Restaurant was not open at night as a consequence of our stay being outside tourist season. Breakfast was well presented and more than ample for morning appetites. Coffee was hot as requested. We were very satisfied with the standard of accommodation provided by this venue and would recommend it for uses who wish accommodation for the same reasons that we had.

The rooms are very modern and airy, the furniture all top quality and the bathroom is clean and modern too. Breakfast is good, typically for Italy. The staff is friendly. The town centre is a short walk. Overall a good stay
The view from the balcony is to the harbor, which can be a bit noisy on a weekday, but enjoyed it on the weekend,

12 euros for a gin and tonic with no ice or lemon. Are they joking?
We were a party of seven staying for one night. The staff seemed to resent us and made us feel very uncomfortable. the rooms are well fitted out but mine looked out over some sort of ventilation shaft or inner courtyard. My window was feet away from the window of the room opposite. Not a hotel I'd wish to visit again.

Room tip: Ask for a room that does not look into the ventilation shaft.
