Just returned from a 5 night break with a friend. We arrived late and were greeted by Marco, who was on night duty every night during our stay. He turned out to be a marvellous font of information and offered lots of suggestions for places to eat, things to see...
The hotel is a little dated in some areas - the lounge area could do with some modernisation and our room was tired, but very clean. We had a lovely balcony in our twin room and made a lovely place to sit and have a drink while getting ready on an evening.
Plenty to choose from at breakfast and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
Lovely roof top pool, and it's worth noting that this is in an adjacent building to which you will receive a code to gain access. Space is a little limited but we alternated lazy days with sight seeing trips.
This is a great base with handy access to the train station - Pisa in one direction, Florence in the other. The main square is about a 10 min walk away and plenty of choices for bars and restaurants.
Do walk 15 mins up the street and take the fenicular train to Montecatini Alto - you won't be disappointed!More
