This hotel is exceptionally beautiful with Stunning views over the Tyrrhenian Sea.

We were only there one night in a junior sea view room. We had arrived on a transatlantic flight and so that may have had an effect on our enjoyment.

The room was pretty simple compared to others for similar prices on the rest of the trip although the shower was great. Our patio had fantastic views.

The service was very very good from everyone we came and a cocktail late afternoon in the outside bar was lovely watching the sun go down.

We are in the grill and compared to the meals we had elsewhere this week I was disappointed in it. It wasn’t bad and was ok but just.

It’s a fine hotel and plenty to recommend. But for me something was missing. Don’t no what. Probably just too tired to fully embrace it or more likely needed more nights there.

This was our first visit to Il Pellicano and we loved it! The views were spectacular, the service could not have been more friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. In particular, we loved the outside patio area for their wonderful lunch choices and the bar for after dinner drinks.

Room Tip: The rooms with the patios facing the water are pretty special

We have been coming to the Pellicano almost every year for about a quarter of a century and have witnessed its transformations.

We keep coming back because of its gorgeous location, the typically Italian village of Porto Ercole and the town of Porto Santo Stefano, where you can take a stroll before dinner, as well for the beautiful, wild countryside of the Monte Argentario.

The Pellicano is a very special place and most definitely one of the few excellent Italian hotels outside the larger cities. This year, we were delighted to find the service quality much improved. Staff throughout the hotel were genuinely friendly and forthcoming and made guests feel welcome and valued - just the way it used to be when the hotel was much smaller.

The only negative point — and one which is likely to be outside the hotel‘s control — is the problem of sewage still polluting the ocean. The water in the small bay in front of the hotel is clear and offers great swimming, but on certain days you can’t go in till the wind and current have taken care of the waste. We can only hope they will eventually put a sewage treatment system in place that will solve this problem.

This was our 4th visit to Il Pellicano and we love it even more! We first visited in 2000 for our Honeymoon and fell in love. For our 10th Anniversary, we returned to the wonderful surprise of the Hotel being even more glamorous and the experience more beautiful.
This year the event was to celebrate my Husband's 50th Birthday. His main request for the Summer was - Il Pellicano. We invited good friends from London, who equally fell in love with this exquisite place. Since last week, we have recommended another couple, who will visit next week.

For anyone who is thinking about visiting...stop thinking, just go. Staying there feels like walking into a wonderful movie of 'la dolce vita'. The attention to detail is perfection. The food is extraordinary and every coffee like the first one you drank. As my good friend said," it still has a barefoot feel about it". The crowd are always friendly, everyone welcoming each other.

As a Fashion Professional, I find the Boutique so incredible. Marie Louise Scio has made a mixture of raiding your most stylist friend's wardrobe and a collection of everything you ever wanted to wear on vacation. I am hoping to do a collaboration with Il Pellicano for my Fashion Art. Sandra, the boutique & Spa Manager is heavenly.

When can we go back?

Room Tip: All rooms have a view.

Dear Guest,

First of all let me thank you for the time you have dedicated to tell us about your repeated stay at Hotel Il Pellicano.

I am most honoured to receive such a wonderful message like the one you sent it, and I consider it even much important because of your continued loyalty to our “house”. We constantly work all together sharing our passion for our guests’ happiness and you can’t imagine how rewarding it is getting back a “thank you letter” by a satisfied guest like in your case.

I believe that finding the right balance between professionalism and friendliness with our guest is probably the most difficult target to achieve but it looks like we are on the right way and we do our utmost not to get lost.

The resort will re-opened on April 16th 2019, Marie Louise, Sandra, I and all the Team all look forward to see you again in the near future.

Sincerely,

Fernando Pane

Beautiful property and nice rooms. Food was very disappointing. Staff was mostly indifferent and poorly trained. Paradise ruined by a badly run hotel. We have stayed at many top hotels and this is certainly not one of them. No way it was worth the money.
