The hotel is a bit dated but rooms are generally comfortable especially with a sizeable balcony overlooking the hotel swimming pool as well as the sea.
The bathroom is a bit too small for adults, however, this shortcoming can easily be compensated by the excellent food offered from the hotel restaurant as well as the friendliness of the hotel staffs, they are all very friendly and helpful.
Another great advantage of this hotel is they have their own covered car park if you are driving!

Room tip: Stay at the top floor overlooking the swimming pool

I enjoyed staying here. The location was excellent. The view from my room was perfection. I slept with the window wide open and the ocean breeze coming in. Walked across the street to swim in the Mediterranean.

We had a welcome dinner here that was delicious. The seafood was the best I have had. The breakfast was good each morning.

I thought the location was great. Short walk along the sea wall to town or boat launches but nice and quiet. Thanks for a nice stay!

I am quite uncertain between 3 and 4 stars...3 as the hotel is quite old fashioned, not recently refurbished and the supper was not so special (the breakfast was instead rather good). 4 stars for the break taking view, the nice service and the room equipment.

I spent several nights here on a hiking trip with Road Scholar. Was not expecting much but all I needed was a clean & comfortable place to serve as a base camp for daily excursions throughout Cinque Terre. In fact, it became one of the highlights of the trip. The location couldn't have been better. An easy walk into the restaurant & shopping district also placed a charming historic seaside church & an amazing castle within strolling distance. A lot of bang for your buck. When I visited the church, it was being decorated for a wedding--how could I have known the large & festive wedding reception would be held at the Royal Sporting Hotel, just below my seaside view room? What could have been problematic another setting was turned into a well orchestrated (pun intended) win-win. The wedding guests were festive but well behaved & our group enjoyed overhearing the wide variety of music & entertainment provided. The festivities ended at 10 PM & I can truly say a marvelous time seemed to have been had by all. Kudos to the Royal Sporting for simultaneously handling a full house (including an entire contingent of American vacationers) while effortlessly hosting a large wedding party for a Brazilian bride. The hotel itself, while not new, is quaint, charming & immaculate. The food is excellent & the staff attentive. There is a spa available on site as well as meeting & conference rooms. Something for everyone. My room was small but featured a private sea view balcony, plenty of storage space for luggage, a minibar & a safe, & an immaculately maintained bath with shower, bidet, & a towel warmer (not needed in May of course) & plenty of high end toiletries. The staff were approachable & helpful. What a lovely surprise to find this unexpected gem of a hotel in an out of the way location on the "Italian Riviera."

This is an old hotel across the street from a beach and walking distance into the 'town'. As part of a Go Ahead Tour, we found the best part of this hotel to be the bar and patio overlooking the water.
There was no air conditioning in my room (thankfully the windows open). It had a very small shower. The breakfast was a true Continental Breakfast.
