Hotel Posa Posa was a great surprise in Positano. I booked the hotel at the last minute when availability throughout town was running very low, so my expectations were a bit low, but my girlfriend and I were pleasantly surprised when we checked in, got to the top-floor room and opened the doors to the balcony, which has absolutely breathtaking views of Positano, the mountains and the water.

Since the hotel is built into the steep cliff, it seems like all/most of the rooms are ocean facing with balconies, so high or low floor rooms will still be fantastic. The breakfast buffet was great and the patio dining tables were the perfect place to sip coffee overlooking the town while planning the day. We had the rooftop pool to ourselves when we were up there and the views from there are just as breathtaking. Service from the front desk staff was great.

The only downside, if I had to pick one, would be the walk to town. It's about a 15-minute walk down into the main part of town, which means it's about a 20-minute walk back up the hill, unless you want to wait for the bus or splurge on a taxi. With so many shops and sights along the way though, we usually opted to walk off the pasta and wine.

Room Tip: All rooms of this hotel seem to have balconies with great views, so you can't really go wrong

We spent 8 glorious days at the Hotel Posa Posa. Our ocean view was spectacular and our room was clean and spacious with a small (yet adequate) balcony. Positano is literally build on the side of a steep incline from the sea to the main road thru the Amalfi Coast. The Posa Posa is about half way up this incline and it equates to a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. My husband and I loved the fact we were away from the hustle and bustle of the beach area and also loved the actual walk up and down. There are a number of awesome restaurants immediately around the hotel in particular our favourite, the Saraceno d’Oro, and a massive selection in the down town area. Last but not least the very best part of Hotel Posa Posa was the amazing staff. I can’t express how the staff gave this lovely hotel a true family atmosphere...they truly make their guests feel special! Julio, Salvatore, Maria, Guissepe were fantastic... yet all the management and staff were brilliant. Thank you Hotel Posa Posa

Incredibly unfriendly staff. Would not stay here again, especially if you are American or Australian. Did not have a good time here. We heard all people in Positano were friendly, we were sadly mistaken.

Breakfast on the rooftop, friendly service, great room, the sea view rooms are to die for. I don't know why this little gem wasn't booked to the max when we were there, but they sure as heck should've been.
It's a bit of a walk down to the beach. However, they do allow taxis to bring you back up after 10P. So as long as you're eating on Italy time, you'll do fine getting a taxi back up there. I like to walk, so we walked it.
It's a great place with a very friendly and accommodating staff. I would send people there in a heartbeat. And SO reasonably priced!

Room Tip: Get the sea view jr. suite. Ask for the one with the big porch :)

We were lucky to found this place, it is just minutes from all the restaurants, shops and dock, the managing staff and specially Julio did an amazing job at welcoming us and went above and beyond to provide us with a great room, as we were traveling for our honey moon, would recommend it highly! Grazie mille
