We found this shop and noticed the glasses and platters purported to be Murano glass. Lisa confirmed this, and after much discussion we bought 6 glasses for €100 - on sale, she said. Only when we got back to our place did we discover it was glass made by IVV (which we knew as she provided a certificate, while reiterating that it was Murano glass) but from Tuscany, and not even the good handblown stuff, but their cheap brand, selling online for just under €50 for the set. We were furious, and went back demanding a refund . . . the only good thing was that after much arguing (and having to threaten to call the police) we did succeed in getting our money back.

So while the ceramics may be marvelous (I really have no opinion as we weren't looking at them), the fabricated story about the glass makes you wonder about the honesty of the store. Bad experience!!

Happened to look in the window and walked in, there is something for everyone. There is a wide selection from the traditional to the more unique. Prices are consistent with the other ceramic shops in the area.

This shop has many of the typical ceramics from the region, with pretty lemons and fruits by local artists. But it also has some truly unique works by the owner. She's influenced by Japanese shapes in her ceramics (square plates, some with folded edges) and colors. But it's still Italian. She grew up in Positano and lives above the shop, I met her father. They were lovely. I bought a small incense holder that was very pretty and a more typical looking spoon holder for my stove. But I would have gladly bought some of her own bigger pieces if I'd had room to hang them in my small NYC apartment.

We were initially delighted with our experience at L'Arte and the friendly Lisa, and picked out 10 plates and a pitcher to be shipped to our home in Arizona. We explained that we needed to have the shipment arrive before June 15, because we would be gone a month after that. Lisa said, "No problem...I will ship within 2 weeks". This was on April 27th. We arrived home on May 20th and the shipment had not arrived. When we asked for shipment status, she said it would be sent by "the end of May", and guaranteed arrival before June 15. However, the shipment was not processed until June 9 and it did not arrive at our home until June 16, one day after we had left on our trip. We returned home on July 15, and opened the box to find 2 plates broken. The product total was $203 US and the shipping charge was $70 US. We took photos and sent them to Lisa. She said, "This is the responsibility of the shipper...you have to contact them.". We did contact them, but they said that since more than three weeks had passed since delivery, they could not honor any claims. Lisa offered to replace the two broken plates for $70 US, but since she failed to ship the plates, as guaranteed by her, in time to arrive before our June 15 departure, we feel it is her responsibility to absorb the cost of replacement. The beautiful plates are broken, and we are broken-hearted. We had so much confidence in her and her business, we never suspected such a sad ending to our experience.

I had the great pleasure of finding Lisa Cinque's art ceramic shop just a few months ago. Beautifully presented, I found such a wide variety of artwork all handmade and painted by Lisa. I bought 4 plates and have them proudly displayed in the dining room. Lisa is very helpful, sweet and informative. After visiting several other ceramic shops in Positano, this one was by far the most outstanding. Thank you Lisa for a lovely visit!
